If you haven't, please read up on Vasalgel. This shit is awesome. It's a simple, inexpensive, reversible procedure. And thus far, the trials have been astoundingly successful.

I'm not too sure about this but I think:

-"Animal" testing is rats, small animals, etc. -$60,000 is needed for complete baboon testing, but... -They are currently putting the $35,000 they have towards baboon research to getting some of the baboons. $60,000 is needed to complete all the necessary baboon trials.

It's a much simpler procedure than a vasectomy, you only need to get it done once, it's reversible, and it will be cheap.

I'm willing to endure a couple minutes of anesthesia and a few days of sore balls for complete control over the transfer of my genetic material.

is what bothers me about the male pill, I don't want that specific muscle to atrophy, which it could over the time the man is on that pill. I wouldn't bring it up if the article was more reassuring, "you stop taking it and everything should be okay,' he told broadcaster ABC."

Can they really have a test that covers 10-30 years of chemically induced atrophy? I just read the abstract of gossypol, they only did a testing period of a decade, in which they found a slew of negative side effects. Low potassium counts, gi discomfort and paralysis are easier to spot than what concerns me.

I forgot I was a layperson who shouldn't think for himself, it' a good thing doctors learn for me. Just because you may not know much doesn't mean I'm completely uneducated.

The vasalgel hardening thing you mentioned is imaginative, where as muscle atrophy is a problem that is well understood. I'd imagine if the gel hardened, it could be removed surgically. Do you happen to know the muscle recovery regiment necessary to rehabilitate weak ball muscle? Things like that take time, if such a regiment has been completely worked out.

Of course the vasalgel may have unforeseen consequences, but this drug is blocking the protein receptor site for sperm transportation. What I'm saying, is that sustained inhibition of that muscle could mean permanent or semi-permanent atrophy of the muscle that transports sperm.

To contrast, JQ1 was another proposed male contraceptive. It inhibited chromatid production during spermatogenesis. What worried researchers about that drug, possible sperm and chromosomal mutations, is what makes researchers feel safe about the new pill, it doesn't target sperm or sperm production. Of course this could be settled by research, and it will, but I won't be an early adopter of the pill for long term use.

Yeah shit gets normalised so that the system works on behalf of women. When you emancipate men from women and have the system work on behalf of women you get a self-destructive society where women don't need to trust men and thus exploit them by getting the government to oppress them... divorce laws, family law etc. Feminism makes sure their opinions are the only ones portrayed in a positive light in the mainstream media. It's a cluster fuck. Too much irrational female opinion "driving" western society today.

Except by that point it will be available and legal and there will be no going back... much like when those guys invented 'The Pill' to stop women from getting pregnant. We cant take 'The Pill' back, they wont be able to take this back either.

It's just another level in the arms race of sex.

Or we could just go back and re-evaluate abortions and the pill again and make them illegal if they want to take this away from us.

Once they realize men having reproductive rights translates into power against classical manipulation tactics

In my opinion this will change the distorted dynamics between women an men. Every sensible father will bring their son on their sixteenth birthday to the doctor. These men will have to consciously decide to have children or not.

If there is no insensitive to get children as a man, because governments fuck them over left to right, governments will have to change their mindset if they want of springs.

There already is competition in birth control in general.

They would gladly sell Vasagel to men, because in that specific category, chemical birth control for men, there's no competition.

It will probably be expensive and I would still wear a condom in addition. There's just too much stuff to catch. For a LTR it's perfect, but expect a shitstorm for not being able to "accidentally" getting her pregnant (aka commitment) ;).

RISUG, which this is based on, is already in human trials in India. If you know someone you can fly over and get the injection under the table. Vasalgel is the same thing as RISUG, similiar compound and procedures. It's being developed under a different name to get FDA approval since India and the USA have vastly different medical standards.

The funny thing is the compound was originally developed for artificial hearts and later water pumps. It works by applying a charge to all particles flowing nearby, which ends up shredding sperm cells in transit. Extremely simple and direct approach to the problem, takes most of the risk out.

a sterilization proceedure which is permanent without another proceedure isn't for me. maybe an irrational fear of western civilization collpasing (taking with it all medical professionals who could reverse this) precludes my better judgement, but i think many men are like me in having a deep seated fear of being left permanently infertile. i would advise vasalgel to make a product which degrades after one year for the more paranoid of its potential customers

Vaselgel isn't permanent. It can last up to ten years, and can be reversed with an injection of water and baking soda. Their last animal test was with rabbits and the rabbits were able to effectively able to reproduce after they were injected with the water/baking soda solution.

They ARE doing huge work for contraceptives. This article left out the fact that the Bill and Melinda foundation is absolutely pouring money into better designed condoms out of graphene sheets and crazy shit. So that you literally cant feel them and are more effective, etc.

They just arent putting their money into male chemical BC because their biggest concern is 3rd world countries where frankly guys never stick around anyway, there is no child support money, and girls dont even know the risks of pregnancy to begin with. Pregnancy only effects the woman over there. So they want to be able to give every poor teenage girl a way to NOT get pregnant at 16 and continue the cycle of poverty. Its a hell of a lot different situation.

Developing BC options for women is not bad. A better BC option that the current pill (cheaper, less side affects, less prone to user error) HELPS MEN indirectly.

Don't be a moron, the Gates Foundation has contributed a lot to men and women.
