People who have worked in family law, what was it like? Is the system truly stacked and onerous against men? Is appealing rulings difficult? Based on your experience, what does the anti-family court crowd get right and get wrong about the family court system?

Here's an older one you might not have seen. Bitches start fight at McDonalds, and just like your average meal at McDonalds, it doesn't end well at all for them. EQUALITY

Thought the New York Subway Slap was the loudest bitch slap you've ever heard? Well after being spit on, this man decided that he wanted a shot at that world record. [Slap at 0:19]

In fiction, girls painfully slap their boyfriends and it's portrayed as comedic, righteous and deserved. But when a guy does something like grab her wrist that is not nearly as painful, it's portrayed as dark and abusive.

Spent 4 years. It was soul-destroying and I quit. And yes it is stacked against guys. "All things being equal", they won't be equal. Usually the women have a positional advantage and if they are devious the magic words "he scares me" can be used by women far more effectively than men ever could.

Appeals of interim orders are not so difficult but appeals of final orders are expensive.

Worked in family law for 2L summer when I was in law school, however I worked on the family defense side, mostly in fighting removal proceedings (Into Foster care, and eventually to Adoption) by ACS in New York City. Family court was garbage in my opinion for other reasons, mainly a tendency to remove children from poor families reflexively, and be less harsh on similar conduct by middle class families, and ignore it from wealthy ones.

I didn't touch any parent vs parent actions, I wanted none that Kramer v. Kramer bullshit. Ended up going to a firm, wanted nothing more to do with that train wreck area of law.

[–]sublimemongrelBecky, Esq.1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I already told you what it was like IME. As to appeals, those are uncommon. I only did one. And yes appeals are more expensive because of the legwork that goes into writing an appellate brief. I can't speak for other law systems, I believe someone like Entropy who worked in Canada saw things a bit differently. IME it wasn't all that crazy unfair or expensive. Yes certain things will favor women disproportionately but the policies it are usually things I agree with.

My cousins a divorce lawyer. According to him, the person who gets screwed in a divorce is the person who makes more.

[–]theiamsamuraiRavishment Realist6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Good thing women don't go for guys who make more than them, right?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Even tho they are making more than men, but I doubt they be screwed over because of it. Its pretty evident the whole justice/legal system favors women over that of men.

They are, on average, paying less than men in child support and get thrown in jail far less for failure to pay. That is pretty shitty. They are now beginning to complain about having to pay alimony.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thye been complaining about having to pay alimony. Why do you think alimony reform happened in the first place? Feminists fought father advocacy groups on it and when women where subjected to it they then flip.

I'm not a lawyer but my friend Bob's brother's sister in law's cousin was jailed for missing one child support payment while he was on a special mission with NASA. Then they put him in the stocks in front of the CVS/Sherwin Williams/TCBY plaza and cut off his balls.

At least he's drowning in hot, sane, 18 year old pussy now.

It's written in The Criminal Code that anyone with a penis automatically gets a worst punishment just for being a man. The Family court system was invested by Feminism to make money for Feminists so they could buy more coloured hair dye.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

You gotta admit the hair dye looks like shit though. Why is it so popular?

[–]BiggerDthanYouBluetopia3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It looks like shit to you, but that doesn't mean that it looks like shit to everyone. Plus it's a good social filter.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

A good filter for letting everyone else know that you identify as a cunt?

[–]BiggerDthanYouBluetopia4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

A good filter for judgmental people like you that think that someone is a cunt just for dressing differently.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It takes a little more effort to dye one's hair then to wear different clothes. Doing it says something about you. Like getting tattoos

[–]despisedlove2Reality Pill Tradcon RP1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

They'd look better without it

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

My girlfriend spends $200+ a month on her hair, she can dye it any colour or do whatever she wants as long as it's long enough for me to put my fingers through when we cuddle, I'm okies with it.

Dark Blue can be really hot sometimes though.

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Jesus Christ, that's how much rent I pay each month.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Damn, what's your living arrangement?

[–]LyaninaBlue Pill1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I'm not American so that helps (France). 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen with a small living room. I have roommates so we split the rent, and I get 90 EUR housing assistance which takes what I actually pay down to 178 EUR each month. Electricity, heating, and water included.

I mean. It's a pretty sweet deal even for where I live. But more importantly, what costs $200 a month for hair? Going to the salon every week? Or just one color? Oo

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You pretty much have to lift all the pigment out of your hair to do those colors. Considering you can lose all of if it's done wrong, yeah, people spend good money. Cut and color at a nice place is going to run you 150 easy, before tip. For a dramatic color change, you're going to wanna go every 5-6 weeks.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That sounds awesome, actually. My girls mixed race and has some crazy curly hair, I don't know too much about what girl stuff like that, hard to say.

[–]despisedlove2Reality Pill Tradcon RP0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Expensive.

We used to have to shell out that much until I learned to do my ex wife's hair color. Price you pay for not marrying someone with "normal" black hair.

They use it to honestly reflect what they are inside.

[–]ShiningConcepts[S] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So that they could be strong and independent women!

...by being dependent on alimony and child support checks?
