What does that even mean?

I think that's a lapse in perception: Women see that female conversion rate from fling to relationship is rather low; while the male conversion rate is rather high (if the man wants). What they don't see is that men have preciously few serious leads to begin with.

Women with children over 40 who don't want to go beneath a certain standard have it harder than men within the same demographic.*

No. In fact, I dare to say that this is a fallacy most dateless men have fallen for: they register these incredible amounts of female complaints about noncommittal men and take them at face value, or rather: they think that being willing to enter a relationship somehow makes them stand out in a positive way. However, what they don't know is that unattractive committal men simply do no count. When women complain that the umpteenth guy has pumped and dumped them instead of wining and dining them after sex, they aren't talking about unattractive men - whether you want a relationship with them or just sex is ultimately inconsequential. They'd rather take a bet by casually dating a guy they find attractive (and losing that bet) than dating a guy they aren't attracted to.

No, saying you want a long term relationship will not in itself get you a GF easier regardless of your physical appearance. It might in online dating make more women be willing to interact with you if that is what you mean by advertise. The men who put they only want "casual" are more likely to get screened out. So sure if all you want is casual sex but you actually say you are looking for a GF your pool will be bigger.

Looks still matter. Somehow, TRP think PP and BP say looks don't matter. It is part of the initial attraction grid.

The idea is that men are the gatekeepers of commitment. Supposedly women want commitment more than men do, so men have an advantage at that and can be the "gatekeepers".

It's just solipsism.

When a woman says this, she means that not every man who she's attracted to is interested in a romantic relationship with her.

This doesn't make sense, as both men and women are looking for ''a one'', rather than ''the one''.

If a woman has a reasonable circle of attractive guys who are potentially interested in her, then it won't be hard for her to find one who is satisfactory for a relationship.

It's the same situation with attractive men and sex. When Chad goes to the club, he might not have a chance with one particular 8/10, but that's not important, as he's looking for any 8/10, so if there are several in the club, he has a very high statistical likelihood of taking one home with him.

The theory is that women are the gatekeepers of sex and men are the gatekeepers of commitment. So women have 100% control over sex in a relationship, but only men can decide if she's worthy of being "his".

I say this entire thing is bollocks. Every individual, regardless of sex, has control over whether or not they allow others to engage in sex with them (except in cases of rape) or commit to their partner (except in arranged marriages). The male vs female dichotomy is unnecessary.

The idea is that men are thirsty for sex but withhold commitment from women. I don't think it's true. I think men are thirsty for both, but more so for sex than commitment.

So I'm a woman and for me this statement means if I were looking for casual sex it would be easier for me to find someone than if I were looking for a long term relationship. Also I don't think this statement is saying that men can find relationships easier than women, but that women can find casual sex easier than men. And although a women can easily find casual sex, it is harder for them to find a long term relationship

For example if I were to join a dating site and say I'm interested in finding a boyfriend, and I don't like friends with benefits, and I would have sex 3-6 months after dating, I believe there would be less guys interested than if I were to say I'm looking for a friend with benefits (casual sex).

I do believe attraction is important in a relationship, but I think for causal sex appearance is valued more than in a long term relationship.

Will adverting you want a long term relationship help you find a girlfriend easier, regardless of your physical appearance? No, I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I do think that if a girl is looking for a relationship and she finds you attractive than your advertisement would help.

Here is how I've always understood it.

Women can find commitment, but have to go through more guys to find it. So, she may have to fuck 4 or 5 guys to find the guy that likes her enough to commit to her. This, of course, is directly correlated to her physical characteristics.

Men can find commitment after fucking 1 or 2 women.

The idea is that men don't want commitment as much as women do and therefore are capable of being more picky of who to commit to.

Lots of women are pretty shitty and only date up. High value men will usually just use their holes then toss them aside because they have the personality of a rock and nothing else to offer of value.

A woman could get a relationship just as easy. Just not from the high value man she wants
