For everyone that hasn't seen it yet go and watch 21 Jump Street.

It's like the truest and most important high school movie of our current time because it highlights of how what it means to be a man has changed in the last few decades.

Schmidt and Jenko are polar opposites: fat nerdy virgin and athletic prom king.

They become cops and go undercover back to high school to find out who's the source of some new drug.

They mix up their roles and funny things happen.

Omega/Beta: "Fat Shady" Schmidt starts out as a shy, awkward, chubby loser who (as the movie states several times) has a distinct virgin vibe. He's nerdy, but he's not a full blown nerd and becomes cooler, funnier and more confident once he finds out that being himself is okay now

Old Alpha: Jenko is tall, dominant and muscular.

But he's learned how to popular in a time when dominance through bullying and aggressiveness, being dumb and not giving a shit was considered masculine.

He's still super attractive to women, but but he can't connect with the modern progressive hipstery PC world anymore and starts to hang out with the super nerds instead.

New Alpha: Eric is a modern day hippie.

He's chill, ironic, plays guitar, cares about others and the environment, isn't possessive with women he's fucking, etc

One thing to note is that the movie also portrayed the female lead realistically because Schmidt doesn't get some super hot chick, but one of the normal looking FWB of Eric that has had enough of the CC

She even tells him that she was just joking when he fails a shit test

TRP is full of old men that speak about what women want although, just like Jenko, they don't understand the modern world.

The message of the movie is basically what TBP is saying: you don't have to be traditionally masculine in order to be masculine.
