Note: This is not a CMV post, I am presenting an observation of the events in my life for discussion. I am not claiming one view or another

my last post made me think a lot about what it means to acknowledge the non-sexual qualities about a girl and what that means for approaching them. Therefore I thought to share some of my experiences and see what you all think of them and why they might be the case.

Whenever I have met girls through clubs at uni, cafe's, friend outings, etc, and I expressed interest in them non-sexually first, such as about their hobbies, studies, travels, etc, and later on tried to show interest in them, I had a very low success rate. Specifically, I wouldn't complement on their appearance(such as i think you look attractive in that tanktop) or say any sexual jokes until after the 4th or 5th time talking to them.

On the other hand, when I have approached girls more assertively, expressing sexual interest in a cocky yet charming way (not cat calling), and then bringing up some common interests after, like tennis or swimming, I had a much higher success rate in terms of going out with them or sleeping with them. The women using this mindset seemed to much more engaged in the conversation as well.

PPD, why would this be the case? Why would the women in my experience be less interested when i waited to express sexual or romantic interest in them?

If it helps at all, this is primarily white or asian or latina girls all in college.
