Good morning PPDers and welcome.
Some of the people I talk to deny their is a "sexual market place" which I can agree 100% with their reasoning, just because of the way it is explained. It makes it way better to explain it as a job market, because that involves actual people into "exchange of goods". Because you're giving them your time, not something you made.
I don't like to use the terms SMV and RMV, but I will use them for the sake of discussion where:
SMV = How good you are for casual sex
RMV = How good you are for a relationship
Looking to work and hiring
Let's pretend a dental office is hiring a dental technician. The salary is $42000 a year. Now if an individual has the qualifications to be a dental technician and applies for the job and gets the, the dential office thinks they're worth $42000 a year.
This means the company thinks a dental technician is worth $42000 and the dental technician was okay with the $42000 for their time. This would be the dental office setting their standards realistically.
Likewise, if the company was hiring a dental technician at $20000 a year, they might have a very difficult time finding one that would work for that low of a salary. This would be called setting your standards too high. You would probably find someone who is desperate for work at best.
At $80000 a year, you would have so many dental technicians applying for the job that not only would you allowed to be extremely picky, it would also be. Setting standards too low. You'd still have the choice of the very best of the best technicians.
High SMV/RMV men and women have more choices, so they can afford to be more picky
Low SMV/RMV men and women have less choices, so they can afford to be less picky
SMV and RMV are just how much you think you're worth, and how much someone is willing to pay you. You can set them to anything you want.
RPW is trying to raise your RMV for a certain type of man.
TRP is trying to raise your SMV for a certain type of woman.
Looking for pajama tester
If someone put a job ad out for a job that was saying they are looking for a pajama tester, where the job would involve someone sleeping in their pajamas and making $20000 a year, a lot of people would apply for that job regardless of the low salary because it's an easy awesome job and there isn't that many out there. The person who put out the ad can afford to be picky with who they hire.
Just as if a fat/gross/ugly girl is looking for casual sex they'll have 100 men who want to bang them, because not that many women are looking for casual sex. That womans SMV is high because of the quality of men she can get to bang her, but her RMV is low because they probably would not date her. If a lot of women were actively looking for casual sex, they wouldn't.
We're not hiring!
Some places aren't hiring, they have no job opening. But that doesn't mean you can't make your own job. If NASA says they aren't hiring, and Elon Musk wanted a job at NASA, I'm sure they'd find him a position just as:
"I am not looking for casual sex, unless you're super hot and charming"
"I am not looking for a relationship, unless you're the perfect wife"
Qualified
They wouldn't hire Elon Musk as an astronaut, he doesn't have the qualifications. But they'd hire them as a computer programmer or whatever the fuck he does.
Men that women see as high SMV and would bangthem , doesn't mean they would marry them or be in any kind of relationship
"Chad" bangs all the teen girls with his SMV and you marry them with your RMV. Not to say you can't have both.
Overqualified
If you put you're a particle physicist on your resume and you were applying at McDonalds, they probably wouldn't hire you because they'd think be thinking "this guy is just gonna jump ship in a month, why hire him?"
You can be to attractive and intimidating to get certain people. Someone who thinks they are a 5 would not go out with a 9, they wouldn't be comfortable with you, it would be too much.
Dread Game
You can demand your boss pay you more salary by getting better job skills. This is basically the icky scary word "dread" or "dread game". If I am making $40000 and I demand $50000, then my company might give me $50000. I could even tell them "this company would pay me $50000". But if you demanded $100000, they might say "Okay then, go get your $100000, BYE!".
Conclusion
-
You can set your own SMV for yourself and people will also set your SMV for you. There is no universal number
-
The people will you would casually sleep with may not be the same ones you'd be in a relationship with or would consider to be in one with
-
There is more than just SMV/RMV, you could make up a million other ones. For example, a casual sex marketplace value. EDIT: They would be more "niche" ones.
