I've never heard this kind of relationship happen to guys... it might... but way less often.

Definitely happens to men too, it pretty much happens to anyone with low self-esteem which it sounds like is what your friends have. They think those guys are the best they can get. Many guys also stick with shitty women for fear they're the best he can get too. Very common dysfunctional relationship dynamic on both ends, this one.

I think that people in these types of situations (yup, guys too) have such low self-esteem that they believe that being in a relationshit is better than being single, because "nobody" else will ever find them attractive or "put up with" them. It's actually very sad and sometimes the partner realizes this and manipulates said feelings even further by using degrading language, gaslighting, purposefully withholding affection, etc.

These girls aren't just not self-entitled with too high standards... they're standards are way, WAY too low. No one should accept being hurt. I've never heard this kind of relationship happen to guys... it might... but way less often. What do you guys think?

Naturally aggressive men are sexy. Women who find themselves chasing an aggressive or violent man will choose to believe that man will have the ability within him to simply "turn off" his aggressive mindset with her, except he cannot and thus she receives both the abusive and the sexy aspects of that aggression, creating this very issue of complaining about it but still wanting to be with him.

You don't see this with many men because men like nice girls, not vioent bitches. There is nothing of value keeping them around unless the girl is extremely physically attractive.

Let's see, what do women contribute to the average non-redpilled MF relationship:

whining, nagging, bitching, PMSing, emoting 24/7 and expecting constant listening/support
neurotic, incessant control-freak attempts to change the man, everything from wardrobe to habits to job to persona
complaining to and listening to her girlfriends who are all slutty, single, forked tongued she-devils hell bent on ruining your relationship because misery loves company
demands. Most notably: Commitment, money, a house, money, a certain lifestyle, money...
drama, particularly near that time of month
non-stop criticism
guilt tripping and more whining the moment you attempt to quit her stifling presence and go fishing with the bros, do something you actually like, make a decision on your own, or exercise any sort of independence
a reduction in sexual frequency/enthusiasm that happens to neatly coincide with the point in the relationship where she's satisfied she has you locked down.

Reverse the genders and this would easily be considered abuse. It isn't that men are less likely to tolerate shitty relationships. It's that the way women treat betas is so universally shitty that hardly anyone even notices it, let alone tries to obtain more. The majority of unenlightened men... the sexual proletariat... are just so grateful to have a pussy to call their own that they don't bother asking for more.

This is how they become entitled. At first they only date men within their social circle. When they become terrible, abusive or a danger to their lives, they break up. And that is when her standards become astronomical. The next guy has to be 100x better or she will resent him for conjuring up memories of her bad relationships. Those same girls are going to turn bad and hold their next boyfriends accountable for crimes committed by the first asshole.

By the way, I know more than one man who is in a bad relationship but chooses to stay in it, so it isn't exclusive to women. In my lifetime, I've known 2 men in similar positions, but only one woman. So, there's that.

But anyway, back on topic, the fact is, we are all insecure. No one wants to do work. It is hard to create a connection with someone, it takes time to get to know someone. And for both men and women, sometimes, they don't want to do that. Breaking up means having to do all of that all over again. So it is a selfish decision.

It proves the "girls love assholes" adage. Stereotypically you see girls going for assholes, putting up with them for a long time. Then, when they're used up, ugly, and wrinkly, start making massive and unrealistic demands of the beta nice guys who they're looking for settle down with. If they find this guy they'll probably get bored, deny him sex (starfish 4 times a year), cheat on him with alpha fucks, and then divorce rape him for abusing her by leaving the toilet seat up.

That's why I don't fuck with the bitter used up ones.

Women aren't stupid. If they're staying in what outwardly appears to be an abusive or dysfunctional relationship, they must have a motive. It's my experience that women often stay with abusive partners because of other traits they value about them. And no, it's not "gina tingles", or whatever... I mean just lol at that. It's usually more something along the lines of status, money, or because they consider him to be good breeding stock and want his DNA for their children. Or in layman's terms, because he's hot.

I have, though it usually goes down a little differently. Guys I know who are or have been in abusive or dysfunctional relationships were perfectly aware of it. And they weren't under any delusion of being able to reform their partner. There wasn't a lot of rationalization going on. A lot of them stayed because they were afraid that if they left, they wouldn't be able to find anyone else and end up alone. Sadly, given how bleak the dating scene of today is for the average guy, that fear is not entirely unfounded.

I suppose their might be a difference between the mentality of women searching for a relationship and those who are in a relationship.

They set crazy standards that normal guys can't live up to, but once they have their sociopath stock broker or thug biker drug dealer - either of whom are in good shape and pulling six figures - the guy turns out to be a complete asshole and yet they stick with him.
