What most studies actually say. Most men have 7 or so sexual partners and women have slightly less. People have started treating fictional media like truth. Most guys aren't having sex with a new girl every week and neither or most women. Even most hot guys and girls have average partner counts.

Hot guy = 40 Average guy = 4 Ugly guy = 0

Hot girl = ~20 Average girl = ~10 Ugly girl = 2

The average girl is more experienced than the average guy which is why so many guys are butt hurt. Howevee hot guys have much higher numbers than hot girls.

Of course you're going to get your average girls who are massive sluts with 40+ and hot girls with only 1-3.

The average woman will have had more sexual partners than the average man. The average woman has much easier access to partners, given that if they use applications such as Tinder, their chances of finding an attractive partner to have sex with is significantly higher than that of an average man.

Having said that though, the average man is more likely to hire an escort/prostitute to compensate for his lack of opportunities. That would mean that the numbers are bit closer than people would expect, but would still show the discrepancy between the genders.

The average is not a virgin, but he isn't pulling girls every week and he goes through long dry spells even when he lowers his standards by a lot. The average girl has had 15+ sexual partners before the age of 20, they were all chads, and she is busy right now fucking chad.

Lots and lots of studies have been carried out to determine the average number of partners for men and women. Most PPD denizens have seen these, along with the arguments that men lie up and women lie down. Quantitative error bars are even sometimes offered in these analyses. So, let's start with the notion that Average Man and Average Woman have roughly equal partner counts.

But... they are average. The average partner counts determined through studies are for the whole population (or, the sample measured anyway). 20% men (9's and 10's) are skewing the stats. A lot. For specific "average" people, Plain Jane has had more and more varied sex than Joe Blow. Moreover, Jane has had sex with 2-3 extremely physically attractive men.

I really do think the data that are available for the question bear this picture out. However, I readily admit that it also 100% lines up with my own experience. I am (as best as I can determine) slightly below average in attractiveness. Every woman I have ever had sex with:

1) had ~2x the number of partners I had at the time we hooked up (this is a lower limit, as I count only those partners I was explicitly told about in each case),
2) had what I might term an "on-demand quickie" with a 9-10 man. These were rarely ONS or strangers to the women, but they were not in relationships with these men, the sex was in places like supply rooms and bathrooms, and the women were implicitly or explicitly told/asked to keep it quiet, and
3) the most attractive 2 had had sex with married men.

I don't really believe those research because

Like one of my TV character, Dr. Gregory House always says, everybody lies. Men and women will always "fix" the number, even though its anonymous.
Things change alot after online dating.

So my guess is, for an average man who has and keep his standard, his number might be around 2 - 5. For those who has no standard, the number would probably be higher, like 7 - 10.

Top tier guys will have a huge number of lifetime partners, but it drops off very fast, and the vast majority of guys will have fewer than 10 lifetime partners.

Hot guy (9+): 50+

Above average guy (7-8): 5-10

Average guy (4-6): <5

Ugly guy (1-3): 0

Top tier girls can usually afford to be very selective, and jump from LTR to LTR a few times with high quality guys before locking one down. Girls that are decent looking but not anything remarkable tend to sleep around a lot for validation. Average to slightly above average girls are the same, but can't score as often. Fat and/or ugly girls mostly take up kink and advertise themselves as super promiscuous and sexually adventurous, and that usually lets them pick up a couple of guys once in a while.

Hot girl (8-9): <5

Above average girl (6-7): 25+

Average girl (4-5): 10-20

Ugly girl (1-3): 1-5
