Single fathers have a much higher bar to cross in a court of law to take full custody from the mother. They have to do so without the benefit of bullshit accusations like "I am afraid of her".

Single fathers never had the option to make a "responsible" decision to have an abortion: they had to step up to the plate after being forced into that position by the mother.

Single mothers almost always have an "out" by either aborting the pregnancy or just not divorcing the father.

Deadbeat moms are more common when the father has custody than deadbeat dads are when the mother has custody.

Since women initiate 75% of divorces, that means that single mom probably put herself and her kid in the situation she's in.

Single dads most likely fought hard for custody and would have kept the family together if given a choice. In no-fault divorce states, the woman can unilaterally end a marriage for any reason or no reason at all.

Frankly I see way more men dating single mothers than women dating single fathers, so it's pretty obvious that single mothers do better in the sexual market place.

Yes. Why? Because both select for different traits.

Regarding single mothers... well, even if you dislike TRP, it makes a lot of claims about single mothers that apply to them disproportionally often when compared to non-single moms. They're more likely to

be rather trashy (anyone who denies that it's lower class people who are more likely to be single moms should go to hell for lying)
have responsibility for their predicament: either they picked a poor partner, or - in the case they picked a decent one - they drove him away or dumped him for frivolous reasons
see men as a means to an end (not without reason considering their predicament...still shitty)
in case the kid was not wanted in the first place: they could have opted out before the point of no return (abortion etc.)

Things single motherhood does not actively select for is responsible behavior, good child raising skills, or being an overall self-reliant human being (beyond the bare minimum), because regardless of how a woman performs in these regards, the kid still ends up with her in most cases.

Now think of single fathers, i.e. men who have sole custody for their kids. All the things single motherhood does not select for is basically a prerequisite to be considered fit to be a single father. I won't make any assumptions about the social tier you'll find single fathers in, but the fact alone that it requires at the very least decent parenting skills (which in turn correlate with a certain set of character traits especially in men) already sets them apart favorably.

single mothers choose to be so, so they're scorned regardless of whether or not they still do well as a parent. but single fathers are victims, so even if they fail, better than single moms.

obviously i don't agree, but that seems to be the usual opinion of people who praise single dads but criticize single moms.

Single fathers hardly exist.

There exists a bunch of guys who are fathers who are single who's kids don't live with him. He gets to see them every other weekend, and pay money to their mother. Do you call these single fathers? As far as I know they do quite alright. I mean... it's pre-selection, no?

No, that's not obvious. What's obvious is that you see more single mothers dating because there are more single mothers.

But to answer your title question: single fathers are only slightly better than single mothers, and only because single fathers are slightly more likely to appropriately punish their children. In reality, a child needs both parents to grow up balanced.

Why the fuck should I care? I grew up in a household where my mother and father were intuitive enough to stay married and I will only be in a married relationship. Single mom or dads are in a shitty situations and they are to blame for their kid being brought up in that situation, because daddy wanted a piece of ass or mommy wanted a piece of dick and didn't want to compromise.

Statistically yes, but that stats are fucked because mother get sole custody mroe often so a single father basically would have to be the best father possible to get custody compared to a woman. so on paper yes in reality if custody was handled ~~better~~ more evenly no it would probably work out to be about the same.
