I don't think porn stars are glorified. Just paid well. I sure as hell don't think anyone thinks of porn stars as role models. They might have fans but that's a little different than being a role model for young women. What world are you living in?

Men want to have sex with porn stars, not marry or date them. No one is saying being promiscuous makes you a bad person, only that it is not a quality men want in a long term relationship.

Also, if a porn star is your role model that says more about you as an individual than "society."

I'd be the last supporter of trp but for the love of everything that breathes, trp is not some visionary way society should be run.

It's meant for individual people and the changes they can bring into their lives.

So when they say "studs not sluts" I understand it and don't say bullshit like "well you can't have any studs in society if 100% of girls were not sluts"

It pisses me off but it's not that hard to understand that it's meant to be taken from an individual point of view not some fairy tale way of society. Fuck sakes, people don't understand that. On that note, fuck trp.

I think it is a bit much to suggest that this is the case, but it is obvious that the mass availability of porn has had a huge influence on our collective sexual appetite and particularly our perception of what our sex lives should be like.

It's really the closest thing to being the male equivalent of AF/BB, although there are differences.

Men want to fuck sluts and porn stars. They are sexually hot, we want to fuck them. All other things being equal (on that, see below), they get us harder faster than other women do, and we want to have sex with them, in a pure, raw, visceral physical way (not relating to personality, lifestyle, values, compatibility, etc.), more, all things being equal, than with other women. (Nota bene: I am not saying that a guy who is happily married wants to fuck porn stars more than he does his wife, because that's a case where "all things are not equal" -- his relationship with his wife, the intimacy and emotional aspects, his bond with his wife, all of these influence sexuality in that context. What I mean is that, if there is no such context, the hot girls, including porn stars and video hoes and the town bike, if she is hot, are the ones who turn us on more, again, ceteris paribus.)

It's not exactly like AF, because most guys really do not want to be married to a porn star or a stripper or someone like that. Most guys would simply not be able to deal with that in the context of an LTR, never mind a marriage. I think that when it comes to AF, some women are like this, and others are not, so there is an overlap there but it isn't total.

The biggest difference in making this analogy is the difference between BBs and non-slut/porn women. Although men are less attracted to these women than they are to the sluts, again in a purely raw, visceral, sexual sense only (not personality or lifestyle related), they are still quite attracted to other women, and much more than women are generally attracted to BB. This is because, in general, and as we have discussed here often, men are attracted to more women than vice versa. So the average non-slut woman is more attractive to men (although maybe not as "hot" as the porn star is) than the average non-AF BB is to women. So the analogy is imperfect, especially on the BB end of things.

So how is it a guys fault that idiotic women look at porn and take it to be their role model? Sounds like bad parenting to me.
