Debate: Who successfully has more casual sex, men or women?

As a group, women can successfully have casual sex more often than men. Casual sex is more available to women than it is to men. If a man makes himself available for casual sex, he might or might not get that sex. If a man goes out for the evening and makes himself available for casual sex, he probably won't get it, on average.

But if a woman makes herself available for casual sex, she is much, much more likely to get that sex. An average woman can decide to get laid, and within 24 hours she'll find a man willing to do her. Might not be the best man or the most attractive man. But casual sex is on tap if she wants it, more or less whenever she wants it.

Women win hands down on who can drum up casual sex the easiest. The flip side is, much/most of that sex they can drum up? They don't want. So sure, they could get laid easily, if the only goal was to get strange dick. However, if the goal is to get strange dick from a man she finds attractive? Still probably easier for her than the average man, but that depends largely on her standards.

Men on the other hand generally would bang any woman that passes his boner test (the minimum required hotness to create an erection) but overall he'll have a harder time getting any interest at all.

Women can get casual sex much, much easier. The issue is they don't want it.

Men regard casual sex as a wonderful sweet treat that's rare and scarce while their tummy is rumbling, whereas many women regard it as something hindering their diet.

It used to be more men having sex with a smaller population of women who enjoyed casual sex. Now I think the numbers are more or less equal (at least in western countries). More men than women want casual sex, but the number who actually get sex is probably equal.

However, if you take into account the older generations like how #2 in your original post indicates, then it is men.

Kind of stringent rules for a question that basically asks people to answer with their gut feelings. I can't see many revelations to come from this thread.

I'm going to just agree with TRP on this one because women get more opportunity for casual sex. It is still a commonly held Western value that men are the ones who initiate contact and make the first sexual move. As such, women are much more likely to be approached.

It would be a much more difficult topic to question which gender is statistically more likely to accept an offer for casual sex. I'm convinced that the genders are identical in that regard; that neither women nor men are more predisposed to casual encounters. But that topic draws so heavily upon anecdote while its academic approach is so heavily dependent upon self-reporting, that I'm not sure that debate could even reach a conclusion.

I (F\20\college students\UK) think it goes like this

there are more men than women in the 18-25 age range having casual sex in general. Maybe on a 60:40 ratio
there is a mismatch between ONS vs FWB expectations, as for most of us women sex gets a lot better on after a 2nd or 3rd time with the same guy. Women would rather have FWB or FBs than go for some high count of total guys slept with
availability of guys is greater for casual sex, which allows more selective choosing by us, women. At the same time, that creates unhealthy attitudes on part of guys as a group, which turns off several women from casual sex because they can't find interesting non-threatening and non-overbearing guys.
women appear to be much more flexible in terms of playing the bisex light thing in absence of men we are interested into. Around 1 in 5 of the girls I know here mentioned keeping the bisexual option opened.

Probably roughly equal. TRP says 80/20 but I've never seen any statistics supporting that.
