I'm not sure when the term "rape culture" was popularized, but most of those 1 in 4, 1 in 5, 1 in 3 type stats have been talked about since the mid 80s.

I don't see any evidence that rape is becoming more common over time.

People who were raped started talking about it instead of bottling it up and slowly rotting from the inside. Just a guess.

I'm slightly concerned about this considering my mother divorced my father.

Thankfully I haven't raped anyone yet. It's probably just around the corner, though.

Rape culture (against women) is a feminist fabrication. It was originally coined in reference to men being raped in prison (an actual "rape culture"). It's used to further the perpetual women victimization cycle by feminist groups. Actual rape of women (forced sex, not slut having sex while drunk "rape") in the Western world is incredibly uncommon and a non-issue.

First and foremost it has to do with the fact that the legal definition of rape was extended to include many more circumstances:

The old definition was “The carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will.” Many agencies interpreted this definition as excluding a long list of sex offenses that are criminal in most jurisdictions, such as offenses involving oral or anal penetration, penetration with objects, and rapes of males. The new Summary definition of Rape is: “Penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”

Most young men are raised by single moms? So more than 50% of males are raised by single moms? Are you sure about this? Are you sure you're not making something up?

Your thesis falls apart immediately in the light of the facts.

The rate of single mothers has been steadily increasing. The rate of rape have been steadily decreasing from a high in the 80s/early 90s.

Added to this is that due to the better police and court procedures concerning rape, more women have been reporting cases of rape than in the past.

Yet, the men who were committing the peak incidences of rape in the 80s/early 90s were the children of the 'happy nuclear family couples' of the 50s and 60s.

Wow, such great values these 'happy traditional couples' instilled.

Obviously, many of these "happy nuclear families' were any of the following:

dysfunctional,
living in poverty,
violent,
alcoholic,
the father kept abandoning his family,
the father gambled or spent his money on prostitutes,
the father was a criminal (or both the mother and father were criminals)

What has changed is that dysfunctional couples/couples where one is dysfunctional that used to stay together are now splitting up. It's not "single mothers" that are to blame for all society's ills. It's a lot of factors.

If all the deadbeat, violent, problem-gambling, criminal fathers stayed in the home instead of fucking off or being dumped by their girlfriends/wives, the situation would get a LOT worse.

Not to mention, schools these days treat young men like they belong in a mental asylum solely for exhibiting masculine traits (rough housing, playing sports aggressively, being competitive etc..) Then attempt to persuade their parents to drug them up on ritalin when the kids don't actually have ADD/ADHD.

Mothers who divorce fathers because they're "bored" or "no longer feeling that spark" are disgusting. Parenting is a two parent job and fathers play a vital role in the child's life. If the father is abusive (I'm not talking spankings or punishing the kids for getting bad grades.. But violently assaulting them, the mother, being an addict etc..) then it totally makes sense to leave him.. But these mothers who divorce for the $$$ and split the family up are just disgusting deplorable low lives who are easily swindled by lawyers.

Many boys who grow up in single mom households never learn discipline or good manners because by the time they're 12/13 they can get physically violent and overpower their mother. There isn't a dad in the picture to steer them straight when they're acting out of line. Or in the discipline area, they don't have a father telling them to be a hard worker / go getter (women can do this too, but the man to man dynamic is better for boys).

On the other hand of the spectrum, girls growing up without a dad or one who's not in the picture hear mommy talking about how much of a loser her dad is all day. Little girl grows up thinking men are losers and winds up dating loser asshole boys in high school / college. They emulate the bad decision making of their mother too. Whereas a girl who grows up with a good father that treats his wife with respect, is good natured, etc will gravitate toward those traits in a boyfriend.. Because she saw it work for her mother her whole life growing up.

Of course, these are mainly generalizations.. But generalizations and stereotypes exist for a reason; because they ring true a lot of the time.
