Seeing some of the other comments, I have a question: What in the world would an article about revenge porn look like if it didn't discuss the distributors and consumers?

So many people complain about feminism and TBP making things PC. Are we too uncomfortable to acknowledge that men drive a large portion of the porn industry?

Yes. Some people are batshit crazy, and feminism is comprised of people.

I don't think there's any way to establish they're more drawn to it than attractive women. I don't personally think unattractive women are disproportionately represented among feminists. I think they get more attention because, like people calling MRAs neckbeards, people want to put an image on feminism that will discredit them. For some reason, being ugly discredits your opinion.

Do you think feminist articles are purposely made to incite anger towards men?

Some are. Again, this is the batshit crazy group. I've never talked to another feminist who takes offense at "NotAllMen." I think that's an important thing to remember. I also think it's important to raise awareness about what it's like to be treated as though you have nothing to offer someone but your vagina. TRP's enforcement of that mentality, or its prevalence among TRP, is one of the problems I have with it.

Can we qualify attractive because some of the the worst feminists i know are fucking banging. But they are complete repulsive in terms of personality. God help NAFALT, some i know perfectly pleasant. but the worst one that i know are banging.

To the main question. feminism need an enemy in the same why that most religion have a good and evil system, in the same way nazi & communism need enemies. It justifies its existence. If you get feminists to admit women aren't oppressed at worst inconvenienced then feminism dies. having some thing to revolt against is mandatory. Revolution seeks resolution; and when it doesn't find it then every one in the enemy as it start shifting from paradigm shift to an establishment looking for witches.

A seventeen year old kid has her nude photos spread around the internet and then has the added trauma of the emails and messages. Kids have committed suicide for less than this.

I cannot believe you'd try to make your point off the back of this. This is so, so weak.

Why shouldn't that be quoted? If it's real, don't you think people need to wise up and know about what's happening out there? Why ARE such a high percentage of men doing this to women? What's wrong with the men who do this that they would do this? If we can't fix this, we need to start throwing them in jail.

There could have been some women among those who sent her messages, but you can be sure they weren't feminists. Because feminists have a bit of bloody compassion. Which is 100% lacking in this post and in the rp posts below.

1) People who watch revenge porn are basically just watching porn. I don't really see how it's any more morally reprehensible than watching actual porn. I imagine people are going to counter argue there's a lack of consent, but there's no consent in creepshots either and creepshots are pretty culturally pervasive as this point. Like half of NSFW fap imgurs are pictures of women likely taken without their direct consent (ie. they're not a model getting paid, and are unaware the picture was taken)

2) A girl who gets revenge porn'ed probably deserved it. That doesn't necessarily make the dude distributing it not an asshole, but I would never break a connection with a person whether rudely, forcibly, or passively and continue to expect loyalty. I've had this happen to me multiple times; someone I trusted with personal information, once our friendship ends either actively or passively, spreads said information to nurture bonds with those who may dislike me. A girl I used to know just did this to me a short while ago. While she's a total piece of shit for doing it, I don't necessarily blame her for deciding to use do whatever she wanted with my information which was previously only bound by trust.

3) I still do not understand why so many people think you can declare someone doing something hateful against one woman an act of hatred against all women. Nor do I get how anyone hating women is enough of a counter argument for any substantive foundation for contention. Neither of these two points has any merit as far as I see it, so that entire section of their argument is void to me.

See for feminism to gain traction as a movement, there needs to be an enemy.

That's how radical ideologies work; you need a cause and an enemy to be fought against. For moderate ideologies you don't actually need an enemy, a cause is enough (for example liberal democracy and its tenets can very well work without dictatorships to fight against, although the Bush administration went against that post 9/11).

And the enemy must always be there, so he can always be presented as a reason to mobilize your adherents. And because he's always there, new and additonal measures to push your agenda are always just, justified and necessary.

Which is the problem with feminism - it isn't conceivable without its struggle against patriarchy^TM , and its image of men and how to deal with them is connected to this. The severity of these measures depend on the radicality of the individual feminist; but part of feminism is thinking that the intergender victimization dynamic is one where men are the perpetrators and women are the victims.

(before someone turns this around and applies the same to TRP, keep in mind that TRP isn't about mobilization)
