Yep. So if you are a girl don't marry young, instead go to school, get a good job & create a life where you will attract a person who you can trust, love, build a partnership with and doesn't play stupid manipulation games or dump you the instance you hit the wall.

Or don't attract anyone and be awesome on your own. There is more to life than having a husband.

[–]Katniss_GrangerNo pill2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Or marry a good man whenever the hell both partners want to and if that means young then so be it.

I really despise the "you have to go to school" nonsense, every tom dick and harry on earth has a degree and there's nowhere near enough jobs for them so they can't get their degree level job, they're over-qualified for the lower jobs and they've spent too long in education to get the required life experience for any other job. all this because someone told us we have to go to school to have a good life.

Yea I was just making an opposite example of focusing on marrying young. I agree with you I never went to college myself and I have a great job. But I'm also not from the US.

I'm from the UK and in uni, absolute misery for 3 years with another one to go and no job at the end of it "yay!"

Why do you have to go to school and get a good job to attract a person who loves you and is trustworthy?

There is more to life than having a husband.

Come on, how many women (or men) are going to be happy and have no regrets in their "golden years" about never starting a family? Humans are social animals. Surely some exist, but I have never once met or spoken to or heard of anyone upper middle-aged or older who decided to forego finding a life partner who was happy with that decision.

I didn't say school and the partner were one without the other. Hence the &. Do both. Or one

Or do none whatever floats your boat

People are using this as a stand in for "establish independence", reasoning that most modern 21 year olds do not have the means to start a household/marriage, and that most people take some time to meet a partner that is a good long term match for them.

[–]AjaxelerBrownish colour0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

thanks :) this. Everything is taken so black and white.

Start a family without a husband? I hear that's possible these days

[–]BakerofpieRed Pill Woman0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

IVF via sperm donation is for lesbians or as a last resort for women who weren't able to find a man to get her pregnant before her biological clock ran out. No one sane chooses to have a child with no intentions of it ever having a father. A family includes someone to grow old with. Your child is most likely not going to be your lifetime companion.

[–]winndixie-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

And until then, fuck all the hot guys whenever said girl get horny right? Cue 30 yr old writes internet article about "k I'm ready to settle down with guy now, which beta wants me?", "where have all the good men gone?", "y'all shallow about partner count"

You're also suggesting becoming asexual. I just want to point that out.

This fucking country and time, I swear. Anything goes. The amount of self delusion and shifting of blame is scary.

It's a common advice given by bloggers on the Internet. Hardly reflects real life.

"Be awesome by yourself" is suggesting non marriage. Maybe she is also suggesting occasional flings. It sounds to me like stay alone most of the time (aside from platonic friends) > asexual.

Trust me, I'm calm and I read what was said. I did not assume what was said. I extrapolated an incoming narrative, that I have often seen and heard.

Understand?

IME, the girls who cry "where have all the good men gone" have been saying it since they were 16.

Cool. So even at the experienced age of 12, they suggest they have met all men and that all of them are gone.

I have the highest hopes for stable marriages and relationships.

IME I don't get how this changes anything in my life.

[–]GridReXXit be like that2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Lol "Fuck all the hot girls whenever he gets horny." Isn't that the RP dream? You guys hate on anyone living better than you. Or perceived to be living better.

[–]winndixie-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

You misquoted, I said guys not girls. Where's the hate? I don't see it.

Oh! So fucking whomever you want and getting what you want is "living better". The truth comes out. I get it. Screw not giving the money maker the best sex and time, you want to "live better", despite the expense of others. The guy you marry and mooch his money off of don't get your best sex and years of your life, but rando bar flings do. But who cares, "living better", amiright?

This is why RP strategy exists, because fuck this shit. WE want to be the ones "living better." I don't work hard, sweat my balls off, and marry a woman used and abused, just for her to deny sex and take half. Everything is said unapologetically and yes, admittedly with a little butthurt. Hate is too strong of a word.

[–]GridReXXit be like that0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

You misquoted, I said guys not girls. Where's the hate? I don't see it.

I didn't misquote. I wrote the inverse of what you wrote. I know subtle, "amiright"? Right over your head.

Isn't it an RP fantasy for an RP man to be able to spin plates with the hottest girls whenever he's horny? Seems to be a big one over in TRP.

So yes, if a woman is doing that, she is living his dream.

Hence "living better" ...than how he thinks he should be living.

Hence the anger all up in both of your posts.

[–]winndixie0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

You quoted, which suggested verbatim, I was correcting you, so as hard as you like to passive aggressively insult my intelligence, I caught it.

There's no need to suggest I'm angry. I'm not, and its not relevant even if I was.

So living better is fucking anyone you want without consequences, that's what everyone wants. RP men prefer that to be themselves rather than women.

[–]GridReXXit be like that0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

No that's what "spinning plates" guys seem to want. So if a woman is fucking at her discretion she is in fact living better than him. Not sure what's so hard to understand here.

[–]winndixie0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Nobody's having a hard time understanding, really.

Great, I hope that same women won't have a problem marrying after revealing her partner count.

[–]GridReXXit be like that1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Doubt she will.

[–]winndixie0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Yeah that's the premise of TRP is to inform men not to marry women like this.

[–]AjaxelerBrownish colour1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If that's what you want to do. Do it.

[–]9Choronzon0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

create a life where you will attract a person who you can trust, love, build a partnership with

The problem here is you assume 'building a life' is going to attract a man. It won't. While men do care about more than just looks/youth, those are still the primary motivators in our attraction, and other aspects tend to be more personality based (chemistry, loyalty, decent person ect.) than anything to do with school, career, or 'building a life'. You're about as likely, maybe more so, to attract a decent man while young than after 'building a life', and a man is still going to lose attraction for a woman who hits the wall, regardless if he's a good partner or not. A woman's best bet for relatively safe long term commitment is, imo, a man 10-15 years her senior, while she is still pretty young, and kids.

[–]Petticoat_Rule1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

A woman's best bet for relatively safe long term commitment is, imo, a man 10-15 years her senior, while she is still pretty young, and kids.

But what if she loses attraction for him ten years down the track because he's now 50, bald, paunchy and boring - and she starts having affairs with men who sexually attract her? That's not looking good for her marriage.

It's ludicrous for women to marry much older men simply because of the reasons you stated. He gets the attractive partner and she gets the 'going-to-seed' partner. I fail to see the benefit to her.

[–]9Choronzon0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I fail to see the benefit to her

The benefit to her should be a more experienced, established, higher status man who actively wants to start a family and who's waning attractiveness should actually more closely mirror hers. A man 10 years her senior should by no means be 'going-to-seed' so long as he keeps himself in fairly good shape. You may as well ask 'but what if she loses attraction for a man her own age a little down the track because things get routine and boring', its probably about as likely a scenario as the one you outlined, so long as the woman picks her older man with some care and deliberation.

[–]Petticoat_Rule0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

But his healthy sperm are diminishing with every year. You can't honestly say that a man who is 10-15 years older (as you said) is going to look as good as his younger counterpart. If she's 25 and he's 40 when they marry, by the time she's 35, he's 50.

Love is another thing, and if couples meet of whatever age and fall in love, so be it. Love is more important than age.

But it's not a good strategy for women to go looking for someone 10-15 years older just because he'll be more established. He might have been spinning plates for years and is hardly good marriage material. You also cannot tell with accuracy how someone will age. Take a look at men of age 50 on dating sites and then tell me they look as good as a woman of 35. No way in the world - they are oceans apart.

[–]9Choronzon0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

But his healthy sperm are diminishing with every year

Its been a while since I read about sperm quality and age, but from what I recall the difference it makes is no where near as great as a woman's age. Regardless, a 25 year old impregnated by a 35-40 year old shouldn't be a problem on either end.

you can't honestly say that a man who is 10-15 years older (as you said) is going to look as good as his younger counterpart.

Not all men by any means, but its definitely a possibility (particularly if the man intends on it and keeps fit and healthy) Check this out: http://www.tmz.com/2010/05/18/kelly-mcgillis-tom-cruise-top-gun-reunion/

The difference is remarkable. Imagine if Kelly Mcgillis had married Tom Cruise when they were young, would it have been a good deal for him or a particularly safe bet for her? I'm not aware of men of this age on dating sites, though I'd hazard that men of 50 who are still on dating sites may not be the most attractive examples around.

Anyway, I never really stated that the man would be as physically attractive as the woman. There may be a bit of an exchange, his greater status and resources for her greater looks. Either way, the woman would of course have to make good judgement, but that's no different to marriage at any age.

[–]Petticoat_Rule0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

splutter

You're going to compare TOM CRUISE to most 50 year old men? He's not looking that good now anyway, but still football fields ahead of other men his age. He's not the usual. He's also had loads of work done on his face, whereas it looks as though Kelly is letting herself age naturally,

Sandra Bullock and Cindy Crawford are Tom's age and they look amazing, but they are not the norm either.

In any case, you're comparing a 47 year old Tom to a 52 year old Kelly. Not a non-celebrity 50 yr old man to a 35 yr old woman (who most probably looks after herself like a celebrity).

Regardless, a 25 year old impregnated by a 35-40 year old shouldn't be a problem on either end.

Most women won't be ready to have kids at age 25. And by the time she is, his sperm quality (over age 40) is rapidly diminishing.

Like I said, love is a different thing and age doesn't matter. But basing your life plan on age is nuts.

[–]9Choronzon0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2145060/Tom-Cruise-dismisses-idea-youthful-appearance-plastic-surgery.html

Well Tom Cruise would say different, not that you have to take his word for it.

Here's an article that claims women are 'finally' ageing better than men: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2267050/Good-news-girls---FINALLY-ageing-better-men-10-women-worry-partner-leave-younger-model.html

But look at that comparison, its Cindy Crawford (46) a clearly heavily made up supermodel, next to Chris Evans (44) a pretty normal looking guy who works in radio. He's not even in particularly good shape. But whatever, men and women age just the same I guess.

http://www.babycentre.co.uk/a564598/dads-how-your-age-can-affect-your-fertility-and-your-babys-health

Sperm quality doesn't seem to affect things as much as you think it does, particularly if the female partner is still young, though there is some uncertainty.

[–]winndixie0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah, that's too much thinking ahead. A hot guy at a bar will dessimate all you just said in seconds.

[–]namae_nanka1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's the problem with letting in young women in the workplaces and contact with older men. Combine that with baby boom and a surfeit of young women compared to older men and it's a perfect recipe for old men having the fun of their lives.

[–]OfSpock0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Since there are many more baby boomers, there would actually be a surfeit of old men.

[–]namae_nanka0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah once it is in place the competition gets fierce since debauchery also brings about the fertility collapse.

[–]wombatinaburrowfeminist marsupial1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The wail of "I gave him the best years of my life!" is an oft heard one when middle aged women are traded in for a pretty young thing when hubby has his mid life crisis.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a gamble for all women now that there's no fault divorce. And men.

[–]cocoguard 3 points3 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That's what I'm afraid of. It would totally suck to get married young thinking I was gonna dedicate my life to that marriage and have the other person leave when I'll be older and have fewer options (NO I'm never going to let myself go, that's just a fact no matter what you do). That's like spending all your money on one stock that's expected to stay the same and then have that company/whatever go bankrupt, except in this stock market you can only have one investment.

[–]RareBlur0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Then don't marry a man who would do that.

....and put your money in a mutual fund, it's already diversified..

[–]fiat_lux_Red Pillar1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or your own index fund. It's minimal work that you can do and spare yourself mutual fund fees.

In any case, her hypothetical stock market only has one investment. In such a world, I doubt the mutual fund would be so diversified.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not really.

There is some risk, sure, but having more to offer than younger, prettier BPW goes a long, LONG way.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

From an investment standpoint it seems mighty stupid.

[–]sh1vRed Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Yup. Thats part of the reason for alimony laws.

A woman shares her fresh young hot pussy, a man shares his sum earning potential over his lifetime. Neither side can back out.

Problem is nowadays women are allowed to back out of their side, as well as summarily eject out of the relationship with half the dude's loot against his will, laying claim to half his resources without providing the customary lifetime of sexual access.

So women are still protected by marriage, dudes not so much. I'd say it sucks to be a man, but our biological advantages still outweigh pussy privilege by a good margin. Feminists are working on that problem though. 'Equal representation' and all that.

[permanently deleted]

[–]exit_sandmanstill not the MGTOW sandman FFS1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Think again.

The redpill marriage ideal is a young, attractive, faithful SAHM who takes her marriage vows seriously and deserves the same courtesy extended to her (hence no need for alimony and child support). The redpill marriage catastrophe is a woman who did whatever during her prime, was chasing alphas, worked some years until she got fed up with it, settled down with a hard-working provider until she got unhappy and is now milking him for alimony and child support to keep the "living standard she's accustomed to". So it's more "having your cake and eating it slowly" vs. "a cake made of shit any reasonable guy wouldn't want to have at all".

Both are extremes, but the TRP position would be that the former should be incentivized instead of the latter.

[–]Petticoat_Rule0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This scenario unfortunately doesn't account for the young attractive wife who loses attraction for her husband as the years go on, because in the TRP ideal, he's quite a bit older.

She might cheat, she might leave or she might just grow bitter and resentful that she didn't realize what she signed up for when she was 24.

[–]BakerofpieRed Pill Woman1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even if the mom works, statistically she probably makes less money than her husband.

[–]TalkToHusbandPurple Pill Woman-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

by the time my looks fade so will my husband's. So long as he doesn't become a millionaire, and I don't become a fat ass, that won't happen.

[–]wombatinaburrowfeminist marsupial-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Isn't one of the central notions of TRP that men don't become less attractive as they age? Therefore your value (looks) will go down, but his (earning capacity) won't; therefore leaving you in a state of constant "soft dread" after your mid 30s.

[–]BakerofpieRed Pill Woman0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Most RPers will acknowledge that a man's value doesn't keep increasing and increasing forever. There is a wall for men too, and unless they are goddamn Hugh Hefner they're not going to be able to keep pulling hot, young women in their 50s.

[–]Petticoat_Rule0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So, a wife will hit the 'wall' in her thirties and her husband will hit the 'wall' in his fifties?

That's twenty years in which the husband will consider his SMV to be much higher than his wife's.

[–]BakerofpieRed Pill Woman0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not trying to be rude, but is there a point to this statement?

[–]Petticoat_Rule0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm also not trying to be rude, but do you honestly hold with the notion that men don't 'hit the wall' until their fifties? We all know that red pill thinks that women hit it at 30.

There is a wall for men too, and unless they are goddamn Hugh Hefner they're not going to be able to keep pulling hot, young women in their 50s.

To me that means you see men as being able to pull 'hot, young women' until they are 50. So that's 20 years (between 20 and 50) where a man remains able to pull 'sex things'.

I guess my point is the insanity of red pill thinking. It's not just red pill though, it's men in general, but I find it insane when I see women saying it also. I've seen so many men aged 40-50 on dating sites that look fit enough, but they're angry because they can't score a date with a woman 25-30. I guess it's because to a woman that age they look old? I don't know.

I'm guessing that men who cheat on their wives and do shitty things will imagine there'll be lots of hot young things lining up for him when his marriage dissolves - but instead finding out that women don't want him when he hits the dating sites.

[–]BakerofpieRed Pill Woman0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've known several men in their 40s who still have flings with women half their age. There isn't a universal age that the party stops for anyone. My mom is in her 40's and STILL gets insane amounts of attention from men, including wealthy men with status. The amount of people who are still going to be able to sleep around with younger, attractive people is going to drop off quite a bit once they hit 50.

I've also known several men who left their wives thinking they could score someone younger and hotter only to realize, hey, their wife wasn't the only one to let themselves go, and now they're having no sex instead of weekly sex with a fat wife.

No matter who you are you need to be realistic about what you have to offer and whether there is an expiration date on any of those things.

[–]Petticoat_Rule0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That all sounds very believable.

I guess I got the wrong end of the stick in thinking you were saying 'the wall' doesn't happen for men until their fifties.

Yes, totally, people of all ages are attracted to each other and fall in love with each other.

But marriage stats bear out that most women marry men within three years of their own age. When I used to hang out in the POF forums (for giggles) there were a ton of angry men in their late 30s/40s who couldn't get the 20s woman they thought they deserved, and called them stuck-up bitches and sluts. A few of them would boast about all the attention they were getting from hotties in night clubs - but if so, they wouldn't have been on POF sounding angry and calling women names.

I have yet to come across that admission.
