Here's how I see it: I'm just walking, minding my own business when out of nowhere some douche screams "nice tits sweetheart." It makes me really angry because I'm just walking, I wasn't doing anything to attract that guy's attention. He's an asshole. I don't really see what's the point in catcalling.

I used to just silently keep on walking, but now I've realized that I don't deserve to walk away with a bitter taste in my mouth. Promptly telling douche canoes to "suck my lady dick asshead" is normally enough to shut them up.

The thing about catcalls is they usually aren't serious romantic or even sexual pursuits. Take for example, a person walking down the street and someone whistles or shouts at best "hey baby" or at worst something to the effect of "hey slut, nice tits" or attempts to grab at them/follow them before laughing at their discomfort and running off.

So if not to pursue them, what's the point of behavior like this? At the "hey baby" end of the spectrum it's flattering to some women, for others it's uncomfortable or startling or ~~below~~ beneath notice, everyone has their tolerance level for it. OTOH, "slut!" or calling out a specific body part is incredibly uncomfortable, and pretty gross. It's clearly meant to be more insulting than flattering or a sign of interest.

God, I fucking hate being told to smile. For the most part, I just ignored creepy comments, but I never liked them. If I had to pick with or without it, it would be without it.

Some of the street harassment these women experienced is on the level of sexual harassment (being followed home). Literally whistling--you can ignore it. I had some guys on the roof of a church whistling at me and it was absurd, like they could see anything from up there.

But seriously, is it that hard to understand why women wouldn't want to deal with it, when it's at best absurd, and at worst, makes you try and remember what you've learned about self defense, with the middle being creepy?

I don't know if you guys will find this interesting or not, but recently I got a job working in night life venues and concerts.

Typically +-5 women will touch me inappropriately while on the job. Nearly +-10 will say inappropriate comments to me while on the job. I do view it as sexual harassment, it's quite annoying. Most of the women are pretty ugly but on a few occasions an 8 will try the same thing.

I view catcalling in the same way. I am not at these venues to be harassed, women aren't walking around to be harassed. It's annoying, but I wouldn't say to make it into a big thing. This is like the epitome of bragplaining. "This big burly guy called out to me saying that I have a nice ass, I was so embarrassed! Like I wanted to die."

I've also worked on construction crews. Typically if I have felt the need to make a comment I'm not going to scream it out and make a scene. I'll engage in locker room talk at a tone that is reasonable.

I do know guys who catcall. When I was younger I asked one why he did so and this was his reply: "Not all the women who I call out to will respond positively, but the ones that I'm after do so." So they wouldn't do it if it didn't occasionally work.

I've only one time done something that could be construed as a catcall. I saw an attractive woman, probably in her mid-thirties, wearing short shorts and heals on a summer day. She was walking in my direction and could see I was checking her out. I said "You still got it!" and smiled. She laughed, smiled back, and that was that.

Catcalling is annoying and can be really intimidating. The fool who shouted out "nice tits, ya slut" while I was breastfeeding my baby at the park deserves to step in dog shit.

Let me get this straight, if I suggest that I view a certain woman's body attractive by saying stuff like "girl your body looks amazing" to try to get sex with a woman, its sexual harassment. If I suggest that I view a certain woman's body is unattractive to get sex, I am a misogynistic man that abuses woman by break down a woman's self esteem to get sex. If I ask a woman straight up if she wants sex, it is sexual harassment. But if I try try anything other than that, I am a misogynistic rapist because I am trying to manipulate a women into having sex with me and I did not explicitly ask if she will consent to sex. This is why I am redpill. It is better to get in trouble with TBP than the law. Not to mention it is more effective in actually getting me laid.

I don't catcall because it strikes me as really needy. I think it is just a case of women being disgusted by low SMV men and deeply threatened by them being stronger and actively desiring them, along with all the fun stuff that implies.

That said, I want to pose a question to the BP ladies here. If Tom Cruise/hunk of your choice passed you by the street and winke- nooo... yelled "Hey sex-machine. Nice ass. Do you shit with that?"

Tell me you wouldn't laugh, giggle, blush or at least secretly be flattered to the point of dying inside.

Tell me what would happen if a hobo did it.

On one hand, I think it's extremely juvenile. We're talking junior high school, "hurhurhur tits" level of behaviour here.

On the other hand, most women who get catcalls do dress like sluts, so they reap what they sow.
