Love this move and I'm not really a Roseanne fan.

I especially love how he gets this perfect women, Meryl Streep, and proceeds to treat her like dogshit. Because he's garbage. Really good example of how LVM are just garbage to all women.

If you haven’t seen it already, this is cute. Particularly how she lifts up other women by starting her own employment/staffing company. Summary via IMDB: Housewife and mother Ruth Patchett (Roseanne Barr), an overweight and unkempt woman, can seem to do nothing to make her husband, Bob (Ed Begley Jr.), happy. When he becomes embroiled in an affair with romance novelist Mary Fisher (Meryl Streep), Patchett does all she can to ignore it until Bob finally leaves her for Fisher. Bent on revenge, Patchett begins an intricate undertaking that will lead to the destruction of all that Bob holds dear -- and she also has plans for Fisher while she's at it.

Love this film!

Another awesome film is "Shirley Valentine".

Shirley is married to a LVM who expects her to be his domestic slave. Her kids treat her the same. One day, Shirley picks up - goes to Greece - takes a lover ( she literally uses him for his sexiness and gentlemanly ways WITHOUT getting attached) finds herself - then become the best version of herself and starts to create her own life on her own terms. And yep - she ditches her husband.

The film is brilliant and hilarious and empowering and fun. 5 stars.

I really enjoyed the book, the Life and Loves of a She-Devil.

Though I always took it as a cautionary tale to not let revenge take over your life. Yeah she got her revenge, but she was left with nothing at the end. Not even her children.

Even when I was a kid, I found the message to be ‘cast away those who don’t treat you well, and then don’t look back.’

Ruth spent her life trying to get back at her husband in really intricate ways, the perfect revenge fantasy. But the ending was sad, and I always thought, well what’s the point of it all? Did she even get to do what she wanted in the end? Or was it all about making her husband miserable? I don’t want to live like that. Great book.

I remember watching this as a tv series in the UK. It was great, her revenge was so sweet because it cost him everything!

Had no idea it was a film, going to check it out.
