Boyfriend and I are kind of at a crossroads where we are determining if we should move in together after his lease is up. I currently live with my parents technically but I'm at his place most of the week and we commute to work and come home together. I'm 28

As I stay at his apartment, I try to help out appropriately and be respectful of his things. Unfortunately, I struggle quite a bit with executive functioning. I mean well, but often find myself fumbling with basic tasks and have stained his things or tried to help clean and the result was worse than doing nothing. Today he found a black ring around his tub as a result of me using oil based products in the bath. I just wasn't thinking about that. He was not happy he had to clean it.

This is a consistent issue between us. He said he needs someone who he trusts can pull her own weight. I don't think he even trusts me to wipe down the countertop.

I have issues with "learned helplessness." I think subconsciously it's an anxiety issue. I'm overly anxious and insecure about completing tasks correctly. If he tasks me with something, I have this mental block against asking for more clarity or asking for what I need to complete the task. It's like I feel like a deer in the headlights. I grew up with a very critical and emotionally abusive mother. My boyfriend gets that but it's starting to wear on him.

I feel like Pinky from Pinky and the Brain. I've got derpy sidekick vibes. I'm afraid my boyfriend can't trust me to be a compent first mate and he'll find a girl who can.
