No honey buns, it makes the most sense of anything you've contemplated in your life.

You spent your entire youth sleeping around and taking advantage of biological winnings you never even gambled on, and only now that those privileges are off the table do you begin the process of self awareness.

You are the wall personified. The story of your life should be taught to women in high school so that they never end up in the same position. You could maybe get away with this behavior in your 20's and then "get serious" in your early 30's, but the window is now firmly shut. The breeze of your youth no longer enters the premises, as you watch the loving children and husband you could have had blow away like dust through the glass stained by your major regrets.

Her going to r-foreveralone is like talking to a person who is starving to death how hungry you are at night since you did not eat since lunch.

One thing missing in many discussions on women getting older and having a harder time dating is that many of these women offer nothing outside of her looks. We can see it in her own words:

I've never had any trouble finding guys to date, etc. But the moment I turned 40, it's like something changed and I feel like I instantly lost my value in the dating market

The fact is, if she offered more than her looks, she would more likely be off the market entirely, being a wife and mother instead of being single at 40. This is what happens if you only coast on your looks and offer nothing else. Everyone gets old, and if you have nothing else to make a relationship work, is it any wonder she is having diminished success? My guess is her standards have not been lowered either, so it makes her issue even worse. All she would need to do is just accept that the guy is not going to be the same studs she previously got, and she could be single no more.

Men who want marriage want someone with all the makings of a good wife, not just someone who looks good. This is why everyone who wants marriage or equivalent long term relationship should develop themselves into a well rounded person.

This is really at the crux of her problems. She can likely still get a ton of dates from average guys or even high quality guys that are a bit older however that's not what she wants.

She wants the guy her exact age who is also the total package of face, height, income, fitness. She wants the top tier guys in her age bracket and she's realizing now that this tiny, select group of men would prefer someone younger.

Classic case of a woman refusing to acknowledge her lower status vs. her younger years - still clinging to that entitlement that young, hot women have.
