About the never ending argument over Nature vs Nurture and being a male, everything seems to be contained within this riddle:

"If your kids remind you or yourself, then it's called 'nature'. If they remind you of your neighbor, then it's called 'nurture'."

Not an anology but I think it's important for men to understand, something I call "the deal."

When men form relationships with women and agree to be monogamous, they agree to forgo their sexual prerogative (polygamy). But she can't ever not be hypergamous.

Women enter this "deal" with good intentions and accept the "check" and it only bounces when her body (biology) rejects it.

So men should only enter these deals if they understand the game and are willing to pay in and pay the exit costs accordingly. Men who think they can "game" the system or hold a woman to her word are writing covert contracts.

It's the origin of TRP's "she's not yours." If you accept that, change your habits accordingly.

the lock and key analogy is flawed in that it contains the underlying assumption that female sexuality/vaginas are "supposed" to be secured. if someone doesn't hold that assumption it is just gibberish

When it comes to women and casual sex, mine is renting a car. I’m not saying “buying” because there’s no long term commitment. You use it for a bit then you give it back because it’s not your car to keep.

A women is given a lot of opportunities for casual sex, so much so which is why she is so picky. So she’s given a choice to rent out two cars, one is a BMW, one is a Toyota Camry. The terms are the same, the price is the same (the men will hook up and never talk to her again), so why in the hell would she ever choose the Toyota when there’s a flashy, more attractive BMW she can choose at the same time for the exact same terms?

My grandpa did this great analogy when I was a kid...

"You see "tanito", relationships are like TVs.

There was a time when TVs where expensive, very unique, you may have one in your life if you were lucky, and when it broke people would try to fix it, becouse the entire family had a very special thing for that old TV. It wasn't great, but it was what we had, so we made it work.

Today TVs are fantastic, so much that you have one for every room of the house and if it's broken you throw it to the garbage and buy a new one becouse it's really fucking cheap. Nobody cares shit about the old TV if you can replace it with a new, better, expensive one with a flat screen and more colours.

Tanito, these are not great times to be a TV son. Don't be a TV, make sure you become a motorcycle."

Love is essentially an addiction. When you like someone a lot, the stimulation you receive while being around them causes your brain to produce a "reward response", which we get accustomed to, so it is incorporated into "baseline". Once they've become baseline, we notice when they're missing, because that regular "reward" they provide is missing, and our brains essentially go into withdraw and we feel anxious about getting it back ASAP.

This is also why many LTR's don't break up even once the magic is gone. They're just too used to each other to want to cause that withdraw feeling. (This applies to more than just romantic love; anything or person you interact with on a daily basis, to the point of acclimating to their presence and expecting it to "be there" each day can result in feelings of loss and pain.)

That one is stupid. That's an incel analogy and it isn't even accurate.

This one is more accurate, as it's describing sexual gatekeeping. But it's also wrong because it assumes locks and keys actually have similar motivations and the roles are complementary.

Neither of them have to do with relationships. The soda can one is stupid because soda cans aren't biological. A woman's vagina or lips don't just retain sperm on them, that's not how it works.

The lock / key thing is just sex with some trad-cuckery thrown in and a visual metaphor about penetration.

So what's the relationship analogy?

Here's one.

Men are like oysters, and commitment is like the pearl, and a woman is an oyster shucking knife, and she doesn't want the oyster. The oyster exists for the pearl, this isn't a restaurant son. Go to the ACME Oyster House in New Orleans if you want to get drunk and eat oysters. It's on Iberville in the French Quarter but there's always a goddamned line.

And young women are the tourists, eating oysters and hoping for a pearl while putting in zero effort, but as the longer they stand in line, they just become the shucking knife and put frantic effort in, but the oyster is spoiled and smelly, and tourist is sweaty and stinks of vomit, and the pearl is going to the oyster's ex-wife.
