I had to skip out on gaming because the PS2 came out when I was a teenager so obviously my mother wouldn't let me have one (we actually bought a friggin DVD player even though the PS2 was cheaper and could play DVDs). Then there was stressing over grades, getting into college, graduating and getting a job. So I missed out on almost everything.

Now that I'm in my 30s, I just bought a PS2 and am currently playing Prince Of Persia. I plan to get a PS4, a Nintendo Switch and the new Xbox Series X (when it comes out) over the next 1-2 years.

Society can suck it.

Video games now have a good bit of sjw horse wash in them. I put this on a post a while ago but women are now being added into the “gamer” pool because they play mobile. (Candy crush etc) and that being the case they’re targeting girls in all these console games where the women in the game are all powerful, executive type people. It takes a games atmosphere and kills it with how much of a point they push.

If you are playing games you aren't watching tv and being told how great women are and how terrible men are. You also aren't being bombarded with propaganda. You might not go to the cinema, unless it is a big event movie, and see Hollywood tell you how to think. You may use money you would spend on drinks for women, cover charges, parking, and dinner on DLC, microtransactions, or more games.

The good ole days. 1999. Got off of work on Friday, cashed my check and, grabbed take out from my favorite Chinese place. Then, cranked up my ps1 and played Medal of Honor, Test Drive 5 and 6 all night. Still have the PlayStation. Still have my Super Nitendo too. Bought a ps2 in 2003. I'm thinking about getting the. PS5 when it comes out.

I work in a remote gaol in the desert.

I cop so much crap for being a "gamer" and how my generation is going nowhere how I should go outside and have fun. Gaming is anti-social blah blah.

All whilst these peoples lives literally is going home drinking alcohol or watching tv and nothing more after work.

Me on the other hand? I'm online playing with my friends back in Sydney having a great time which is making my time working so remote go so easily and the best part is I'm sleeping with a coworker on a "fwb" agreement which for a desert with barely a population over a 100 I'm doing pretty well.
