You know, I can think of a few female fiction writers whose stories I really liked. CJ Cherryh, RA MacAvoy, Robin Hobb, fucking Rowling until she lost the plot at the end... All masters at telling meaningful stories and creating interesting characters. AND not too stuck up to eschew violence, sex and profanity.

I'd love to see an anime based on, say, the Lens of the World books, or Paladin, or the Liveship Traders. But if such were to be made, feminists would hate it or insist that it be rewritten beyond all recognition because of the conspicuous absence of Mary Sues and the way that the women in these stories act like women.
