There's nothing like the loyalty of a dog. Unconditional love.
[–]teelolws97 points98 points99 points 4 years ago (37 children) | Copy Link
Are there any other domestic animals that are loyal like this? A bird or something?
[–]emperoroficecreamws136 points137 points138 points 4 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link
Most people can't give them a proper life, but a good horse will love and trust you almost to the level of a dog. I've heard from everyone that ever owns a parrot that they get extremely attached to their owners, but they need you to be around them constantly or they get upset. They also get jealous of even other humans that get your attention, and can usually outlive you. I've also been looking into falconry, the birds don't care about you at all but you can form a great working bond for hunting.

I highly recommend African Grey parrots. I had two that hated my ex and loved me. They constantly lunged at and would bite her even though she was the one who fed them. I would sing, whistle and play music for them and they loved me to death. Apparently they have a sixth sense for smelly cheating snatch.

I know how to keep my ex away now!
Thanks m8

Also Hyacinth Macaw is great. Biggest parrot in the world to have as a bodyguard.

Nice info there mate
[–]teelolws14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Good to know. I live in a city so a horse might be a "little bit" impractical. I have always wanted a bird, but I suspect a parrot might need too much upkeep for me.

Why is women that like horses a red flag?
[–]Your_Coke_Dealer13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Horses are fucking expensive. Horse girls almost always have rich but not-present-enough fathers
Horses are very time consuming. That horse is her hobby and pet, and she will care about that horse more than you.
Maybe it’s the daddy issues too, but horse girls are invariably insane. On the plus side, they have nice asses (riding, yo), but they’re absolutely batshit insane.
Don’t date equestrians.
[–]-Fender-3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Isn't there also a thing about them getting orgasms riding horses, which eventually affects how they perceive sex should feel and it fucks them in the head when reality doesn't conform to their ideals?
[–]Your_Coke_Dealer4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Women getting orgasms from riding horses sounds like something that’s occasionally possible, but for the average woman is as much bullshit as “if it’s a legitimate rape, the body just shuts down”.
For the same reason, avoidance of unfounded bullshit, I’ve also omitted all the Freudian theories as to why horse girls are crazy.
[–]-Fender-0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Hey, I've seen multiple videos of women getting orgasms on the slingshot attraction at amusement parks. It's actually somewhat famous for that. So I tend to think that it's probably more common than you think, while horseriding.
[–]Throwthe88270 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It is very common. I remember a woman commenting on that and she was doubtful at first. She tried the activities and confirmed it.
[–]TheLastMgtow0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

im interested in getting into falconry as well, its part of Bedouin culture and the Swedes use it to bring down drones.

[–]FakeNogar3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
They are indeed curious and generally friendly, and I'm sure someone who has never been near cows would be intimidated if they saw the herd moving to surround them.

Some cats are. Ive had several growing up but the one i got in college (and still have) is the exact opposite of the asshole cat stereotype. Loves everyone, was visibly excited when i would come home after long vacations, even excited when i come home from work, follows me around my apt, etc.
[–]teelolws24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Oh I've had 4 cats over my life so far. 3 of the times they just randomly disappeared without a trace. Fourth it wasn't mine to start with and she took it with her. But what I found with them all was once they weren't kittens anymore they only wanted food or warmth from me. Otherwise they didn't give a shit about me. I'm done with cats. When I came home it wasn't "hey! You're home! Good to see you!!" that I was greeted with, it was "feed me, cunt".

Apes. They are smart as hell. They understand our feelings and are very curious about our companionship (better than the females, i guess)
[–]1111222231384 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't think apes are domestic.
[–]OnlyTheForum6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Parrots. Most of the time they just let themselves die (or become crazy) after their long-time owner is gone
[–]Roary933 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My cat is. She guards me when I sleep akin to an army dog for their trainer/unit partner. Animals of any sort will protect the person that helps nurture and take care of them. They see you as their pack and will defend you to keep it that way.
[–]christianknight0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yes birds get attached.
[–]bagomonkeys[S] 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Sumfuc74 points75 points76 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Seen something similar to this & it always astounds me the depth of the love they have for us. We are blessed to walk the earth with them.
[–]bagomonkeys[S] 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It's like the relationship between God and Man.
We don't deserve His love.
Like we don't deserve their love.
It leaves me confused.
[–]AeternusDoleo15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's not about deserving. It's about having earned that loyalty. You treat a dog well, and it'll go through hell and back for you. Bonds like that can form between humans as well, but are rare... the threshold of trust for canines seems lower. Must be their pack dependency in the wild.
[–]bagomonkeys[S] 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bonds like that can form between humans as well, but are rare...
And when they do form between human adults it's between men. Women are incapable of this.
[–]TheTastelessBatman2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Transpose the word God and you'll have your answer.
Perhaps, dogs were created as a sneak peak into what God's love is like?
[–]1111222231381 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's probably because dogs have been bred by humans for thousands of years and have lived side by side by us for the long, I don't think there's any spiritual element to it
[–]I_am_Groot6975 points76 points77 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
how does the dog know its his?
[–]devok1[🍰] 68 points69 points70 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

maybe it is where the last time he recognized his Odor, dogs are amazing creature.
[–]OddPhilosopher129 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well, if you believe in spiritual stuff, there's your answer. If not, I dunno.
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I took my dog to my Gran's grave and he was acting funny like he was looking for something. This was a month after the funeral and he wasn't at it.

I want a dog, but every dog I pick I hear “who’s going to look after it while you’re at work?”
I need a lazy dog that won’t bark and howl and eat my remote while I’m gone
[–]BlastHardcheez18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]bfte25 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Smaller dogs hold their bladder better. Teach it crate life while you're gone from the house. Small dog easy to travel with as well. Shih Apso is a great, loyal breed. Lhasa Apso as well. I just like the look of them mixed with the shihtsu(spelling).
I was thinking of a corgi mix. Still, if I have a dog, I wanna spoil it to inches from death. I want to have the fat but mobile romanticized wingman dog that somehow miraculously is by my side most all of the time. A truck driving dog that I can toss a burger or an ice cream cone to on occasion. But that’d require an unrealistic economically-suicidal career change.
I’ll look into these breeds. Just seems like everyone I know shames me into not doing it..meanwhile I see homeless people with the big “impossible to own” dogs everywhere.
[–]DinDoNuffin1822 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Some bulldogs are pretty lazy. Tho thats a 50 50 chance.
[–]L_Ollonais1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lots oh health problems, sadly.
[–]Juvenal100 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Bulldogs are great. Two of my friends have them but they are expensive because of illness. One actually purchased dog health insurance.
[–]DinDoNuffin1820 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I guess i depends what breed of bulldog. I was blessed to have an American Bulldog. Very smart yet stubborn. I hear french bulldogs are well rounded for their size. Theyre strong for their size and built like a tank but small compared to their more famous cousins like Old English, and not as prone to health issues depending on the breeder. But overall from personal experience bulldogs or bully breeds are amazing companions for MGTOW men.
[–]Juvenal100 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Should have mentioned I was referring to English bulldogs.
On second thought, an old roommate had an American bulldog. He was healthy for his entire life. Dumb as shit, though.

Similar images for Naval Special Warfare Chief Petty Officer Jon Tumilson and his dog Hawkeye. Jon was killed in a CH-47 that was shot down in wardak provence afghanistan in 2011. Jons funeral was in his hometown high schools gym, and the dog hawkeye laid down up front next to the casket for entire service and wouldnt leave.
There is a crossfit "hero" workout named for Jon, its pretty awful

Nice photo, here is dogs 10 commandments
My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be very painful.
Give me time to understand what you want of me.
Place your trust in me–it’s crucial to my well-being.
Don’t be angry with me for long, and don’t lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment. I have only you.
Talk to me. Even if I don’t understand your words, I understand your voice.
Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you.
Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I’ve been out in the sun too long or my heart may be getting old.
Take care of me when I get old. You, too, will grow old.
Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, “I can’t bear to watch it” or “Let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.
