Intro: I was at the gym the other day and I noticed a girl there who frequents the place. I have never engaged in any conversation with her in the past. Honestely, this is because she's a bit intimidating. She's hard-core in her lifts, she's got lots of tats, and she always wears a resting bitchface.

Body: So the other day I was thinking about my day game and my skills at approaching women, which needs a lot of practice. I was lifting my sets and saw here doing the same, so I went for it. I approached her and started with an introduction, all the while maintaining eye contact, smiling, and keeping an open posture. What happened surprised me because I was expecting her to be rude and dismissive. Instead, she turned to face me, removed her ear buds, and listened to my opener. Immediately after, she smiled a huge smile and started engaging in the conversation. She looked so much better with a smile too, which was a nice bonus.

Lessons learned: Don't let a resting bitchface derail your approach. Embrace the risk of a rejection and go for it. Chances are, if you've been working on your SMV and social skills, the encounter will be positive.
