For me it was when I realized I am the prize. Grew up being told women love successful guys and I should do everything I can to be worthy of them. So I started my own small business, got my own house, a car, started working out and earning a pretty decent amount. It was only then that I realized they are not better than me and that pussy is not even close to worth all that. Single moms who let themselves go acting needy and choosy as if I should be happy just to be in their company. It just struck me out of nowhere, wait a minute wtf is happening.

In a strange way it actually helped me to improve myself and I luckily dodged a few bullets. It's crazy how before getting red pilled you don't see the truth that is right before your eyes. Everyone will say a decent looking girl is "too good" for an average man who has achieved everything in his life. Just because she has a vagina. You literally see that stuff in movies and TV shows and just laugh it off.

Remember growing up and hearing about deadbeat dads? Well imagine following that path and learning about women lying about abuse, cheating, rape, etc. All to ruin a man and to protect her image.

I also looked back on my life and my interactions with women. Women generally only knew my name when they wanted me to benefit them.

I still remember it. I read about a man who became a doctor, married, divorced and lost everything. I think the day after, I read about the same happening to a military man.

Basically it was like a row of Dominoes being knocked over. Put the pieces together and I said "Fuck this. I'm out."

Was married 6 years, hadn't seen her in a month due to work keeping me out of the country. I called her a day ahead of time to let her know I was coming in a few days earlier than expected. She said she wasn't able to pick me up from the airport because she had "made plans with friends". I said "ok, have fun" and hung up. She called me back immediately recognizing her mistake. I didn't answer.

It was like an iron door slammed shut on me emotionally. I just didn't care anymore. Haven't been the same since. That was 10 years ago.

Never went home , never answered another call or text. Never saw her again other than court.

It's hard for me to say it, but it was physical abuse.

When my now ex used to get agry she would, sometimes, become extremely dangerous. She throwed things at me, punched, kicked... you know the drill. When I imagined having our kids see this scene, I felt extremely sad, I couldn't accept bringing a child to this world and making him see his mother abuse his dad like that.

The negative straw was 'breaking up' with the girl I was orbiting for 5 years in institute and a year after. I was kind of aware of my situation but was too miserable to just ghost her. Long story short after several occasions where I was treated especially dismissively by her, I texted her "I regret ever meeting you, curse you". On her birthsday. Honestly I kinda blame myself for this, as her reaction was much stronger than I expected, but she didn't have to enable my orbiting for years, knowing full well I'm nothing but a bottom-tier backup plan.

The positive straw was when I realized that my 2 main self-image problems (being overweight and being poor/low-status) have sound solutions I can follow and reach a life where I would be contended. I also realised that my desire for women was partly caused by my desire to damp my anxiety, and the better I fetl about myself the less I wanted to bother.

A culmination of many things. Being treated like shit by all of them except the very few which are already taken by my friends. Being used to get into my friend's pants (he's a 6,3" gymrat with really good facial genetics) in social settings where they saw me as an easy prey. Me being the funny clown I couldn't see through it - this was extremely obvious in a few cases where they'd get really friendly with me as an means to an end then flat out ghost me after I wasn't useful to them anymore. In bars / clubs, them asking me for drinks, then trying to use me to get them a free ride home (of course, the bed was reserved for the alpha chads).

Things I found out over the years of clubbing / going to bars / PUA memery:

- Being confident or having a funny personality brings absolutely nothing. They will see you as the funny clown and as soon as things escalate they'll just drop you dead if you're just average looking.

- Looks are the only things that matter. Confidence and making them laugh only matters if you're already above the attractiveness threshold that's necessary (top20% of guys), but at that point neither are even necessary. Tinder economy is becoming more and more real life.

- The false belief that lifting and having a shredded body will help you get more chicks. You can have a good body, but you're not gonna be running around naked on street and showing off your gains, especially not in winter. The only thing they see is your face and your height, which are both genetically predisposed. I guess facial surgery to look better is one way but is it really worth it just to get a higher SMV for these shallow beings?

Divorce after almost 8 years of a marriage was the catalyst that ultimately led me to MGTOW. I had always hated dating but just accepted without question that dating many women was a necessary evil in order to find the woman who would satisfy my desires. It never occurred to me at the time that the reason dating sucked so much is because dealing with women in general is frustrating. It wasn’t so much that I was dating the wrong women. It was simply that there were no right women to date. I was also a typical blue pilled nice guy.

After my divorce, there was the initial mourning period until I eventually had an epiphany that none of this was worth being miserable over. I started reading and watching red pill and MGTOW content that I didn’t even know existed before or during my marriage. It changed my life for the better.

There wasn't a single moment at which I suddenly changed. It was a series of experiences:

For years, I never really had much success with dating, especially compared with how much I tried. I'd try over and over again, for just a date or a short-term relationship, and it always seemed to be so easy for the women to drop me, for all my efforts.

Then I finally got a serious romantic relationship. It was great at first, like everything was finally going the way that it was supposed to go. Then I slowly started to discover that my "ex" had several serious problems that she had been covering up. By the time that relationship ended, I was wanting to be single again.

I went back into trying dating, and it was even worse than before. It felt like many people in dating now are just doing it for entertainment, instead of finding some meaningful life partnership. Also, it felt like guys all have their own individual "ceiling" on the level of success that they can have at dating, with limited control over the level of that ceiling. If you have the look that women like, you'll get treated like a rock star. If you don't have that look, it's like nothing can really make up for it.

When I saw how boring and disappointing and pointless that dating was continuing to be (and even getting more that way), I just slowly lost interest in it. I started to wonder if there were something that described a non-dating lifestyle, and I heard about MGTOW (even though I know that some MGTOWs date).

I didn't learn much about MGTOW right away, but eventually I started to read MGTOW-related information, as well as this MGTOW group. So many things that I didn't understand about dating, that I never understood before, and that no other information had been able to explain, were explained by the MGTOW-related information. I don't know if it's all proven, but it at least can explain things that I observed and experienced in the real world -- and that's way better than the mainstream dating books that I read in the past could ever do, or than mainstream media does.

Once you get to that point, it's difficult to care about dating anymore. Why put any effort into it, unless perhaps you are a Chad? And of course, MGTOW brings up other considerations as well, things like more freedom to decide what you want to do, and increased wealth. I guess reading about this stuff finished the change in direction I had been making, but for me, it was really a change that occurred over years.

Let's be honest, once a guy finds his self-respect, and he feels like dating just treats him as having not much value (if any), why in the world would he take it seriously anymore? He almost has to walk away from it to show that he disagrees with how he was treated. He certainly wouldn't keep begging to be accepted by it.

It was several things that occurred in sequence with my ex - a lot of lying and blatant manipulation. Honestly, never would have picked up on it if I didn't do psyops in the army. Manipulation tactics helped me understand women's very own tactics.

First it was keeping guys around she claimed were just friends, but then me finding out she had banged them. She saw nothing wrong - yet I wasn't allowed to talk to any women.

Second, when she moved in, she moved from a different province. She gave the impression (even my family and her family believed this) that she was only initially down for a few weeks to see the city and start the job hunt. Then, she'd go back to get her vehicle and save more money and drive back down. She never went back after the initial visit and immediately became a financial burden.

Third was hearing how her and her friends spoke about other guys. Honestly disgusted me. Plus, I overheard of shit she had done with other guys but not me and refused to do.

Fourth was her parents were like children and needed constant entertainment and also validation. They visited and stayed for nearly 3 weeks - I almost went insane. They were financial leeches.

Fifth was me bringing up the same 2 or 3 issues all the time. Mainly being that I felt I was hauling more than my fair share of the weight, that she had no hobbies and didn't want to compromise on my lifestyle and also turning every single issue around on me. That shit got old.

Sixth, the sex got old. It became like a rehearsal - it was the same positions in the same order all the fucking time.

Seventh was her blatant paranoia (was actually projection) that I was cheating. Came home from work one day and my laptop was opened - she had went through every form of social media I had and even my bank accounts. This was when I started to plan my exit. On top of that, she also had the audacity to get mad at me for not finding anything and claimed I had deleted all the evidence.

Eighth was the attempt to trap me. One night will have the most boring sex of my life, I was about to pull out and she literally wrapped her legs around me and attempted to force me to stay in her. The look on her face was pure disgusting - it was blank and scared the fuck out of me. Luckily, I pulled free and after that I couldn't physically touch her - she repulsed me.

After that, I planned my exit accordingly and kicked her out. Which was also a shit show, but needless to say, it's all over now.

I think the point when I said to myself "this stops and it stops now" was a dinner invite from a friend and her husband where the fourth person at the table is an underdressed girl, half my age and in full warpaint who spent the whole evening wanting to talk about my company, my car and my hobbies. This was followed up by 'wonderful to meet you' texts (no I didn't give her the number).

Do you think I'm mad? Knowing what I do now she was obviously feeling the wall closing in and going for the widower (good track record with marriage and no complicated ex to fend off) and small business owner (OK a partnership) target. I was flattered, as she must have been nearly twenty years younger than I was, but I decided that that was taking 'gold digger' too far and too obvious. It's all become so much cleared when I understood MGTOW and our AWALT doctrine but back then it was just me wanting to scuba dive, ride motorbikes and fly hang gliders.
