Want a dope life? Cut out dopamine spikes.

Dopamine is by far the most important element to having "life energy." By "life energy" I mean motivation to get off your ass and live life the way it's meant to be lived.

By dedicating too much time to dopamine-spiking activities such as video games, porn, and weed, you are essentially training yourself to be lazy. You are satisfying your natural hunger for dopamine on activities that get you nowhere, and in effect are dulling your dopamine receptors.

By cutting out dopamine spikes, you are allowing for healthy levels of dopamine at all times. Ever wondered why people become monks? They want to find what seems like eternal happiness just by, well, living. Personally, I find happiness now in the smallest thing. I enjoy the shit out of my ham and rice. Cold showers are pleasant. Just walking around outside, I feel at peace with nature. The change is drastic.

This has also fueled my drive in the gym and in business, as it has forced me to find my taste of dopamine through small achievements, like completing that final set of bench press.

There are a variety of ways to make your dopamine levels more receptive. Here is my list of dos and do-nots for a good dose of dopamine-induced life energy.

  • No porn
  • No video games
  • No TV
  • No sweets
  • Limited weed and alcohol
  • Cold showers

You can change the list to your own taste.
