Tl;DR, I didn't die during my first date. Basic red pill cornerstones such as taking the lead, being direct and honest, and focusing on yourself reigned true.

Hey brothers, so today was a big day for me; My first ever 1 on 1 date with a girl. I'm 22 and this probably is 7 years late, but better late than never. I've known about TRP for FOUR YEARS. Four fucking years of inaction. However, I am down 40 pounds since 2017, making 6 months of swallowing the pill. Today marks the next milestone in my journey.

Some background info: Met a HB6 who is roommates with my buddies mutual friend. She isn't incredibly bright, but this made her easy to tease. I talked to her while at the bar, got her number etc. Texted for logistics only and cut off extra conversation (she sent me a picture of her dog we talked about the next day at like 9 PM). I didn't reply once she texted back etc. Arranged a date today at a bar.

Semi unrelated but I have had this issue where expressing my sexuality is difficult. I am afraid of the whole concept of kino and being physical, which is likely tied into my repressed/hidden fear of rejection and probably body image issues from being (formerly) overweight all my life. To counter this, I went to a strip club with my buddies and sucked face with a stripper for a while. It felt amazing in the moment and unsatisfying shortly after leaving the club. But guess what, I didn't die after making out with someone. I feel this genuinely put a fire under my ass to realize I need to go out there and crush this pointless fear already.

Fast forward to today, it's date time. This was it. The moment I have been waiting for. I arrive at the venue 20 minutes early to talk to the bartender I know and get a pregame drink. She arrives, and we talk for 2 drinks. My kino admittedly wasn't the best. I touched her shoulder and hands multiple times, and also gave some high fives. I went for a full hug when first seeing her arrive but she reciprocated with a side hug. At the bar, she kept her legs directly in front of her and not angled in my direction at the first venue. What could I have done to counter this?

Banter ensued for two drinks and then I paid our tab (made it explicitly clear that I was buying the first round). We bounced to another venue where we continued conversation and another drink. This time I did get closer to her and made sure our legs touched and maintained it as long as possible. After I asked for the check for my beer, she offered to pay for my beer, as promised, which made me happy. We began walking back to my car (she lives across the street and she walked over to meet me), and she made it very clear to say that she lives in x neighborhood and points to it, a spitting distance away. I responded very clearly to continue walking and said "I'll drop you off, I'm going to talk to you for five more minutes". Immediately her demeanor change and she followed like a puppy. We drove to her house, I got out and hugged her goodbye and she said she had a good time etc.

Some observations and notes

  1. Tonight's goal was to go on a date. No expectations other than that. My goal was more than satisfied

  2. I teased her a lot but made sure she knew I was joking. She seems like a shy girl but if it were up to me, she was not super receptive to my kino. Although it was never negative, it was mostly neutral while some other times she would give me high fives but not much else. Could my teasing have been too much?

  3. It felt unnatural when we changed venues in the sense where we just walked next to each other, sometimes close, sometimes far. I definitely think some sort of escorting with my hand on her back or holding her hand would have made it seamless. However, I felt that it would've been forced

  4. I went to the bathroom twice, once at each venue. I definitely could have used that to move the bar stool closer to her for better proximity or reposition myself for it.

Overall guys, I did it. I went on a date with a girl. I had a fun time based on how I felt MYSELF, rather than how I perceived my date felt. Being short and succinct seems to be extremely effective. The look in her face when I told her I wanted to talk longer was priceless; It was even better seeing her obey me. I went in with no expectations, and it ended up great. Of course it could have been better. I could have attempted to K close (during venue changes instead of outside her place to not look desperate), however, I went with my gut and chose not too because I felt she wasn't receptive. I can only imagine how fun it must be to do this with different people each night to become completely outcome independent. I did not die today, nor did I fail. Onto the next one!
