I once took a coding class in high school. It was mostly guys but there were a couple women. While the boys were hard at work designing websites, the girls were either on their phones, giggling at retarded Facebook posts, or whining for the teacher's help because they didn't know how to log in. Bottom line: the reason why there's not a lot of women in STEM fields is because they simply don't care and/or they lack the know-how.

Just live your life, don't worry about men or women at your job, on the street, in media and you will live a much happier and fulfilling life. I know because I have been there.

You know who skates by in my workplace? A bunch of guys who don't do crap but never get in trouble. But I don't let it bother me because doing so doesn't help my life get any better. Instead I am working my butt off and using that to leverage to better pay or a better job.

To be frank every minute your thinking about someone else and what they should be doing, or are not doing is one minute you could be working on yourself to actually accomplish something to make your life better.
