In my early 20's I wouldn't have been able to control my hormonal instincts to chase pussy. Kind of like a drug addict knows he shouldn't be trying to get more heroin but is helpless to avoid it.

There are a lot of bad ideas floating around here. A lot of guys that have learned the hard way have a need to rationalize that learning the hard way imparts some gift that can only be obtained that way. Its an attempt to salvage a massive mistake.

You see this with people that go to jail for their stupidity only to emerge born again and boy oh boy do they have some wisdom to bestow on your poor ass.

Ignore advice to do something that is obviously dangerous just to 'truly' learn anything. If you need to learn something the hard way, you surely will. If not, no need to force it ;D

Well as far as I know you have three levels of MGTOW

Level 1 LTR and such but no marriages or living together

Level 2 FWB only, kinda like TRP but I don't think MGTOW focuses on picking chicks up like they do really so it's a bit different.

Monk No voluntary contact with women whatsoever

Some men, myself included, needed/need to learn the hard-way and would not be able to internalize the true nature of women without firsthand experience with women. You can read evolutionary psychology journals and posts about human nature till you're blue in the face — it doesn't mean you've fully internalized the knowledge, unfortunately. Your subconscious and society will always try to tempt and delude you, "this girl is different"... "Wow! Not all women are like that!"

With that being said, if you've internalized the true nature of women, then I see no practical, rational, or utilitarian purpose whatsoever in having a relationship.

This sub is about men doing what they want to do. Dictating what people shouldn't do is not encouraging them to go their own way. When we start telling our brothers what to do with their lives and where to go, or how to live, then It's less about men doing their own thing and more about following a norm. I want a log home in the mountains some day but I don't expect every guy here to share the same sentiment. Just like I don't expect those who want a mansion to expect that of me.

Yes we talk a lot about women, and yes there are plenty of reasons to stay away from them all together if possible. However for some guys who want to have sex, they may not have the luxury of escorts, brothels, or prostitutes without getting in trouble. The one thing I think all men here will agree with is to not get married, no matter where you are. We shouldn't encourage dating posts and questions all the time but maybe if enough people advocate for it, a bi-weekly or weekly thread can be set up where all dating questions get posted so the sub doesn't become filled with them. And anyone who doesn't follow the rules can have their post removed or their account banned.

Like I said MGTOW is about guys doing their own thing and living how they want. Don't shit on your brothers because they want to do something you and maybe a lot of others here don't. That's the type of shit women do. Let women criticize each other. For those that want to date, sometimes some MGTOW wisdom can help a guy out and make him a happier man.

Well a couple of reasons.

To fuck for low cost/low risk (yes you can do it while dating)

Form of validation(even going your own way needs reassurances from now and then)

And reaffirmation on the actual nature of women.

Once you go your own way you realize you have nothing but time, and with this time you can do whatever you want with it.

I make it clear I will tolerate no bullshit. I don't get mad or fight with any girl. If she pulls any bullshit, she's gone. Simple as that. But still, it's barely dating. We can talk, fuck, eat together, watching movies and shit. But there's absolutely nothing permanent about the arrangement, and again, I make it very clear from the start.

In this way, there's no nagging or drama to deal with and so it's still an overall positive for everyone involved.

Just remember, never give an inch, because they will take your life if you do.

I'm a no marriage/no cohabitation MGTOW, not a celibate or hookups-only MGTOW. That means dating is OK as long as she doesn't live under my roof or otherwise take advantage of me financially. Of course nothing is risk free. Only virgins are proof against STDs, and anybody who ever put his dick in a woman is at some risk of being accused of rape. Ever try really hard to talk your partner into doing some kinky thing you wanted to do in the bedroom? In some circles that's called "rape" now.

But based on many years of personal experience, as long as it's not super expensive I don't mind having a "girlfriend" that I actually hang out with instead of just fucking. YMMV. Always be "risk aware".
