I divided all cleaning tasks into 5 minute jobs. Sweep one room, vacuum room, dust one room. Wipe countertops. Clean the toilet.

Every night I pick the one or two that need doing the worst and spend 5 whole minutes. My place never looks spotless, but it's always clean.

By the way, you don't even have to do the whole thing. Don't mop the floor every time. I pick three small areas that are the dirtiest, take a glass with one drop of dish soap and water, sit on the floor with a brush and giant grout sponge, pour water on the area, scrub with the brush, wipe with the sponge. 30 seconds per area. 80 percent done with 20 percent of the work. It's always the same three areas. When the whole floor needs doing, mop then.

Change the locks. Clean the house top-to-bottom to make sure there is no evidence of pot. Call the police and file a complaint. Tell the cops exactly what you told us. Tell them you do not feel safe in your own home and think she may try to blackmail you more, break in your home to hurt you, plant fake evidence to set you up, poison your food, hurt your pets, vandalize your property and/or to burglarize you. Try to get them to help you with obtaining an emergency protection Order. Also, tell them you want to press whatever charges are possible to the fullest extent that law allows and you want her trespassed; told to never return to your property, and if she does she will be arrested.

I can't quite imagine that. I'm a commercial cleaner myself (underachiever but I enjoy the low stress environment). If I even forget to trap a single speck of dust, I go crazy and feel like a failure.

But then, I don't know.. I don't think many women score high in the conscientiousness trait. Mine is in the 99th percentile. You said she usually does a good job, so maybe she was having a bad day / an emergency came up. Her reaction makes no sense though, nothing adds up. She usually does a good job, which means she knows she did a shit job this time.

Responsibility & women = oil & water. Whenever something doesn't add up when interacting with women, always remember that. Never fails to rectify the logical impasse.

This is why I don’t trust other people in my house, aside from a trusted houseguest (or business meeting) here and there. The only place they’re allowed is in general areas, as well.

I kept mine after my wife passed. She does all the deep cleaning I hate doing and I get more time to do what I want. I really don't need her, I'm pretty self-sufficient and know how to keep up the house but it's worth it for $90 bucks a session. The only problem is she's 4'2 and has trouble reaching high places.

I do everything else. Laundry, windows (outside), and all the yard and pool work. I've actually found after deep cleaning after a party by myself that it's easy...so all the bitching I used to hear about how hard keeping up a house is...was all bullshit. I can deep clean and still get in 36 holes...

Add kids and not so much.
