Much of the energy needs could be provided from methane from the sewage of millions. Aint being done. Instead Sewage gets oxygenated and bleached and dumped into river systems and the sea... Likely whats feeding the flesh eating bacteria on beaches now.
And then more gas is gotten by drilling holes a mile deep.
So people get to pay their water and sewage bill, and pay for electricity produced with natural gas...
Interesting example is there are now rocket engines being designed that run on methane... Why? because its several times cheaper to produce than natural gas for the same energy content.
We dont have a technology problem. We have a management problem.
And we are gonna need industries to be able to create the hardware and infrastructure to shift to better methods.
And taxing the schitt out of everyone, and ruling by decree and hard milking isnt gonna make it happen..
The whole paradigm is dysfunctional.

She led/organized and later inspired a successful country wide strike in Sweden that spread to other countries and (even as not-attractive autist) was able to mobilize thousands of people her age to follow her. I’m not an environmentalist but I can recognize grit.

You're missing the ridiculous support she got for this though. Nobody here is doing that, but nobody here has even half of the support she had to do this, she's not a random person, this part is always conveniently forgotten by the medias. Most of the work was actually done by whatever organization that spotted her, don't remember its name.
She's no "hero". As an autistic person at this age she most certainly isn't able to do this herself and wouldn't if not pushed into something she doesn't understand the ramifications of. She's a teen girl that has been used by organizations as a mediatic tool that is known of the entire world, despite the fact that, to quote her, "she has an hard time with people criticizing her" (pretty common with autistic people because social "blindness" make this way worse than it is for "normal" people, since we don't get exactly where it comes from until way later in life), and therefore should not have a first-hand role in politics like that in the first place, it probably won't end well. That's not grit, she's basically a mediatic frankenstein, and that's not something to be happy about. Autistic people are usually extremely naive for a long time and don't even notice when they're being used, at 16 years you usually just start noticing how the world works if you're lucky. It's more tragic than anything else, and the buzz certainly wasn't done for ecology's or her own's sake.
Also, what she did is something that tons of people already did before her, people just didn't care because they didn't have the double oppression combo and were born too early. Her intentions are certainly good, but in the end she's just paying lip-service when it comes to the real problems, which is almost certainly not her fault, and is becoming the "face" of ecology, as in, you can't be an ecologist if you criticize her, which is problematic when your speeches are so shallow. The media and politicians did a great move with this one, particularly by buying themselves a new reputation by pretending to like her and by letting her speak while knowing that it will not be too bothersome.

That’s the media’s fault and choice, not hers. I won’t hold against her if others made her popular. She did something and then people promoted her and helped her. It’s like starting a company and having angel investors back you up. Sure, a lot of it was enabled by others but you had to first earn a place in the ranks.
I never said she was a hero, but I won’t rush to assume what she can and can’t do as an autist. That’s judging without evidence and it’s what feminists do. She has trouble people criticizing her. Yeah, cuz she is 16 years old. I had trouble with criticism at that age but I learned and grew up as I matured. We don’t come out perfect but get molded by adversity and experience. Let’s just hope it molds her into a better person and the hero she strives to become.
I got to be realistic here. You do make good points but I don’t know the most a 16 year old autistic can do. She can speak about it, which can be labeled as lip service at first glance, but there is no crime with trying to communicate her vision of the world and standard of ethics and policy. Some of her speeches and certainly more shallow than others and I wouldn’t mind criticizing her everyday, but I admire that she isn’t spending her teenage years smoking weed, drinking, partying or being a basic Snapchat bitch. She is making something with her life and starting early, and that is what counts. Of course the politicians used her but she is refusing their awards because she knows it is all talk and fake too.
