The mainstream clearly states that men don't share their feelings in an attempt to be more masculine, that's what is clearly meant by "toxic masculinity". They care so much, that even the slightest bit of anger, or indignation, or contempt, or hatred, or even a loud and hearty laugh is met with do-gooders saying "is everything alright here," calls to the police, calls for firing you at the workplace, calls to domestic violence hotlines, calls to the shrinks to put you on drugs, calls to the parents, and calls to the principal to get you punished.

People care so much about men showing their emotions, men can get shot if they show them too much. And then we wonder why men show nothing? You grow up in a society where every other feeling you have is considered "scary" and "problematic" by women, you learn to keep your feelings to yourself.

This whole canard of "toxic masculinity" is a scapegoat for the way we've been zero-tolerating the legitimate and necessary feelings of men for generations now.

And I, for one, am damn insulted at the insinuations.

I have three top priorities: my passion for the things I care about (for now, it's music, weight lifting, reading), Finance--as in making $, and my hobbies. Women and others, if they come in at all, come in 4th or 5th or whatever. I put my emotions in music, in writing then put it away. Or work it off in weight lifting, in riding my bike.

Because this society gives zero fucks about how I feel as a man and my struggles so I'm gonna take care of #1 first.

It's hard to wage verdicts on that sub. The rule clearly state you have to upvote opinions you disagree with, but it's highly speculated that the popular ones get upvoted while the unpopular ones get downvoted to oblivion. Individuals might also go on the metric of what society may deem unpopular so for that reason, the votes are irrelevent because they can mean anything. You gotta read the replies to get a proper verdict.
