Crafts - also - send him some fun things to go away with. While i think you should spend this time focusing on bettering you, it’s always nice to remind him your remaining faithful, he’s on your mind etc. do this by making a boudoir book or calendar for when he goes away (or creating while he’s away), work out to become the 10 you & him deserve, send him a cute book with stories or drawings etc. i think an obvious is doing hobbies you like as well, just think it’s nice to make sure your man is thinking about you. my SO has everything money can buy so for presents he likes pretty much sexy pics, drawings, books with memories, etc. working out is prob my #1 recommendation on self improvement - and meditation is your into that (sorry about typos i have a migraine so i can’t see too well) one year goes quick - congrats on setting up your future with him - it’ll be worth it :)

Even though cooking for just one person is kind of depressing, you could work on your cooking skills, assuming you're not a chef already.
As for sport that are nice for self improvement, I like rock climbing. Maybe you can find a spot in your area or indoors rock climbing, it's getting more popular and I'm seeing a lot pop up in my area.
Maybe you can find a skill to complement the ones your Capitain has, a friend of mine is sewing and knitting and it makes for amazing gifts and is a lovely addition to her home.
Some reading of books recommended in this board is good too.

Others are making great suggestions about self-improvement. I recommend getting a one-year planner: by the end of it, you know you'll be back with your guy and you can fill it with any number of things you've achieved. Planners are a great way to show the finite nature of time. You can plan things like...

--A roadtrip every weekend in which you explore a new destination.

--A new meetup group in which you expose yourself to any number of things they have, from a meditation healing sound group, rock climbing, rafting, knitting, book club, etc.

--A year of volunteering or performing random acts of kindness

--Learning a new instrument.

--Cooking, baking, cake decorating. All worthwhile.

--Enroll at a local community college to learn a language, take jewelry-making, welding, car repair, graphic design... any trade that may interest you.

--Physical challenges. Maybe try a bunch of different exercises like barre, zumba, P90X, acro yoga, modern dance, pool aquatics, etc.

--Reading. Plan to read a new book every week. Maybe it's philosophy, the classics, or a breezy read like chick lit. Or, write a book. You can do the same pursuit with classic cinema on a Sunday if that's more your style. Documentaries, too.

--Design a home economics crash course. Learn to sew. Study cleaning as if it were a science (and to be fair, there is a lot of chemistry involved). Meal plan. Home decor. Personal style. There are also more niche things like canning, soap making, gardening.

A year is kind of a long time, but fun mileposts can help the time go by quickly. Make it the best one ever!

I would probably get a dog or two and start doing stuff with them. I hang out with my dog all day now. She keeps me from getting lonely, gets me out of the house, and we have a blast together.

I started out planning to train her as a therapy dog and volunteer at retirement homes. She’s still puppy wild and needs to chill first though.

We are now working on competitive dog diving.

If I have to be serious, I would say... learn an instrument, become a 10, sew and create things, refinish some furniture, read, write and do lunch with girls. I think rock climbing might break my nails 😂🤣🤣

I think the other ladies already suggested great ideas regarding activities and self-improvement. I'll pitch a different angle. How far is he going to live? How often are you going to see each other? Are you committed to each other? Did he suggest you come with him?

I will write it anyway: stay loyal. A year is a long time and I know some army-wives who were thinking they always will be but werent after a few months. Its in your control, dont try to twist your mind around any excuse not to be when its hard. Keep your definition of loyalty (dont think about this "but I wasn't penetrated bs etc; we technically broke up for a day because we had a figt"). I know you have good intentions, you know this stuff because its core knowledge here on the red pill. But I saw so many couples and especially wifes who failed during a long time apart, I just have to write it here
