Hello fellow RP women and men.

Before asking for advice allow me to express how wonderful and honest you all are in conversations. It is such a refresher from daily life and it is certainly what makes this group special.

For context, I am a 21 year old women who is graduating college soon (History Major). My problem is I greatly struggle in making friends. To the point it’s concerning. Many older people compliment and enjoy my personality and grace. I am easy going, forgiving, calm, and acutely aware of others emotions. I was bitter and angry in high school but now, through my personal walk with God, I am striving and making daily commitments to improve my spirituality and being more Christlike.

My issue is I don’t understand why people don’t want to be more than acquaintances with me. I would like to have someone to text daily or laugh with (especially this I miss laughing and making stupid jokes). I try my best not to be “too intellectual” around others as I know it can be overwhelming for some. Generally I get along with people who are older than me for this reason.

Overall, I am alone when it comes to my social life and I don’t know how to fix it ( or even if its something I can solve). I have tried to put myself out there and be friendly to everyone I encounter yet no one seems interested in me. I don’t know what more I can do and it’s something I have been praying about for a long time.

When it comes to my outward appearance I always dress modestly and never wear lounge wear in public. My hair is natural and I don’t use make up. I don’t follow the party crowd and am very much on the straight and narrow. I don’t use any drugs or alcohol.

My interests are cooking, plants, history and it’s characters, reading, shooting, drawing, video games, historical leaders, and learning in general.

I like to think of myself as interesting and someone who you would want to get to know. Yet no one wants to make a commitment to me.

It’s heartbreaking to see everyone around me having fun and enjoying each others company while I am alone. I understand that I can’t force friendships and sometimes you just have to be patient.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has similar experiences or suggestions. Criticism is always welcome.

Thank you all.
