Im glad you stopped before it got worse. I got lovebombed by a guy, who paid for dates, opened the car door for me, told me everything I wanted to hear only to break up with me in one night and then laugh at all the problems I opened up to him in my life. Also, had a miscarriage and left me to get engaged with his ex.

It could be worse. But you did the right thing. Any red flags you see in the beginning, knock them down. You aren't missing anything but a man whose words don't match his actions 💯

Im sorry this happened to you. My ex was like that too, prince charming just to call me names and treat me like a dog three months later. Of course he would say that his actions are jusified because everything was always my fault and how I would not "change" for him. I should have left when he started to be passive agressive and limited the attention he gave me, but I Didnt know better.

I'm sorry this happened and that you're feeling upset about him. Sometimes it's hard not to catch feelings - I've caught feelings really quickly too before.

I do want to say that I don't think he sounded that amazing.. I don't think not bringing up sex over a five day period or offering to drive is that noteworthy. Most men should be able to do that. You can definitely find a better guy who can do both of those things and also show consistent effort.

I am SO proud of you for seeing the inconsistency, and taking the initiative to block him before he can hurt you more. Many people would give excuses and say he’s just busy or something - nuh uh. When this has happened to me it’s either because the guy lost interest (who wants someone that easily lead astray anyway) or the guy was purposely trying to manipulate me and make me stress so I would be more malleable.

When I say a guy lost interest - decent people don’t lose interest for no reason and act like that. They will just tell you that you aren’t vibing and move on. But guys like this - he may have just found someone easier to manipulate and get what he wants. Someone who will fall for his charms more easily and give up more power to him through either sex, money, attention showering and ego boosts, or getting stressed and jealous at the change in behaviour (which is still attention for the guy, and proves to him the women is more easily manipulated).

You dodged a bullet! Actually, you saved yourself from being shot, so you should be proud.

I'm really sorry you had to go through this. I think when narcissists lovebomb, they have the intention of wanting something from. My guess is that the slower responses meant he got bored and moved onto someone who was more suspecting of giving him what he wanted (sex, probably).

This shit makes me SO mad. It's becoming more and more common too. These men are social predators. They leave a wake of destruction in their path.

There are multiple types of narcissists too so it's hard to always know what to avoid. Covert narcissists are the biggest threat, the wolf in sheeps clothing. They'll make you feel like their soulmate and then drop you without hesitation once they have their next source of supply.

I recommend all FDS followers to read up on narcissism. r/narcissisticabuse is a good place to start.

Dr. Ramani on YouTube also has GREAT videos on narcissism. She's a clinical psychologist and describes the love bombing/idealization, devaluation and discard cycles really well.
