I wanted to read the full story about the rubber gloves and it's even better. She wasn't even his wife then, "just" the chief nurse, but he considered her work so valuable, that he wanted her to be there with him during surgeries and went out of his way to solve the problem getting in the way by asking the rubber factory to make an item they've never done before: thin rubber gloves. He later made sure it was available for other assistants during surgeries.

Now that’s a high value male
[–]detectivejuiceeFDS Newbie30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The story is even better that way!! Idk why they would remove her hard work from the equation...
[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
They didn't. He noticed her hands were chapped "when she came back from surgery". I read it as she was a surgeon too, but chief nurse is just as good.

No it sounded that he only did it cause it was his wife. But when you read the above it’s because he valued her work. Why mention it was his wife if she wasn’t even his wife at the time. It’s placing the emphasis on what a gentleman he is rather than how valuable her work was. And it also adds the dimension of doing nice things just because there is a romantic or sexual interest which is super lame.

Yet low value dudes be like “I make my pregnant wife who is risking her life to give birth to my child go to work still and split everything 50/50 because equality”
[–][deleted] 123 points124 points125 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Not to mention all the dudebros on Reddit who spout that pregnancy shouldn’t have any affect on a woman’s mood and she has no right to ask her husband to help fulfill her food cravings, help her through her emotions, etc. Basically they view women as walking incubators and fail to realise the physical and emotional impact that CARRYING A BABY has on a woman. And that hormones affect women differently. No two pregnancies are the same.

Pregnancy and menstrual cycles all take a huge toll on a woman’s health. On top of all of this, imagine having to go to work and then come home to cook and clean because that’s expected by an lvm while also paying 50/50 for everything. That’s a nightmare.
Women should remain single without adding an lvm to their list of headaches they have to go through while on their menstrual cycles.

Notice how men only spout equality when it benefits them.

Even my LVM stepfather would get up in the middle of the night to cook steak and prawns for my mother when she had food cravings.

Yeah Reddit is crawling with very misogynistic men unfortunately.

My ex wouldn’t even stop smoking weed in front of me when I was pregnant. That’s when I knew I’d made a grave mistake having a child with him. Luckily, you can still have a wonderful, perfect child even if they share half their DNA with an unfathomably LVM.

It's shocking that there are more than enough of those out there. My husband was asked to play some videogames by a new colleague and when he said that he has no time for that because he takes care of the baby as much as possible after work, the guy was baffled and started talking about "equality". That dude didnt even think twice about the possibility of birth complications or a hard pregnancy and he is 40+ with 2 kids. Luckily my husband is his direct superior and cut him off quickly by saying that he isnt interested in this type of talk and that this is a work place, not a bar. But looking at the "Fan mail" I get on my Instagram, there are way too many males who think a pregnant woman should work and not "enjoy herself" or rest.

What a wonderful husband you have. You are a very lucky lady. God bless you and your family 🙂

That sounds like my bro, he claims he will make his future wife work and go 50/50 even though she would be carrying his child for 9 months because “equality”. It’s absolutely disgraceful.

That sounds awful! At the risk of making waves in your family, I hope you warn off his girlfriends!

His gf is a pickme and will alert him to what I’ve said. My mom and I did try to talk some sense into him but he became angry. I think I’ll just set an example of myself for his gf. I’ll talk about the standards I have set for men and maybe she’ll get the hint that she needs to leave him unless he changes his ways(which men rarely do)

Jesus. I'm only 3 months along but when I told my man I'm too exhausted to keep working he was thrilled I'd finally made the decision to take a break & rest. No nagging, but I knew he was worried about me. I don't think I could even make it to full term working full time. Growing a whole person is a really exhausting job.
How hard is it to have compassion? So many selfish dudes out there.

HVM likes to make life easier for his woman. Her happiness is his happiness, always.
[–]La_Fant0maFDS Newbie25 points26 points27 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
High-value people in a nutshell, both spouses and friends: they want to make you happy and comfortable because that, in turn, makes them feel happy.
Aristotelian morality: noble deeds have a bigger impact on those around you and last much longer than instant, hedonistic gratification.
If somebody doesn't live life like this and take their friends, colleagues and relatives for granted, they will 100% take their gf or spouse for granted as well. That's the core mentality of an LVM: it's all about me me me, and to hell with everybody else. LVM's like to call that "equality", Aristotle would have called it "assholery".
