Hey I’m going to say something different. Okay, yes, some guys won’t escalate anything with you if they don’t find you attractive. But just because you’re not the prettiest girl in the room won’t mean you’re ugly. Self care grooming and style can go such a long way. Plus guys who think like this (that pretty girls don’t have interesting conversation), often don’t try for anything more than sex with those pretty girls. If you’re average looking you probably have the best chances. Plus “ugly” guys probably are treated the same way by many girls - so it’s a numbers game.

I don't care if you're conventionally attractive or very unconventional looking, you are someone's type. The real issue isn't that no one will find you attractive. The problem is finding a guy who isn't ashamed of having a curvy or unconventional looking girlfriend, even if she's a babe to him. I am very tall (almost 6') and thin, and one time I was dating a guy that basically paraded me around like arm candy so his friends would be jealous or something, only to cheat on me later with many bigger girls. After it came to light, he admitted that he's always been attracted to much bigger women but he couldn't bring a fat girlfriend around his friends. Loser.

That thread is a riot. There’s another story going in the comments about a dude who dumped his fat gf of 7 years because he got buff and now has better options. And a response to this is when women break up with a less attractive man it’s due to social pressure not because she wasn’t attracted to him - women aren’t as visual or physical, you know. 🙄

The mental hoops they jump through to justify their shallowness while trying to convince themselves their own looks shouldn’t matter...

Well, everyone has different tastes. I think in a case like this, if you are otherwise a good and interesting person, you should focus on attracting someone around your own attractiveness level and have realistic expectations.
