Yeah - it doesn’t help that men are basically watching hardcore porn from adolescence now either. The sex they want to have with women is demeaning and degrading - not a mutual exchange of pleasure. In fact, a lot of them feel you’re not even entitled to basic respect because you’re “not their girlfriend” or whatever. Liberal feminists really handed men a chance to step up and course they reverted to the most garbage and selfish behavior possible.

Liberal feminists want to pretend biology isn’t real and that women should behave like men - but it’s a putting a lot of girls into bad situations and decisions under the guise of “equality”.

The prior-norm: It's okay for men to have sex/casual sex with a lot of women, but not for women to do the same.

Liberal feminism challenge to that norm: It's okay for men AND women to have sex/casual sex with a lot of people.

I feel that the real challenge to the norm should have been to say that casual sex is not empowering for men nor women.

Liberal feminism needs to preach moderation. Be able to express your sexuality in a healthy way and control it not let it control you. And if you’re sleeping around because of unaddressed past emotional and/or sexual trauma for the love of god go see a therapist.

Don’t repress your sexual desires but at the same time don’t fuck every guy who asks you for sex. It’s okay and natural to be cautious about people you have sex with.

Thankfully, I had enough emotional intelligence to realize hook-up culture wasn’t for me before I jumped off the deep it. I participated in hookup culture because everyone else around me was doing it and I believed the lies people spread about sex being meaningless.

Sex isn’t meaningless but at the same time sex isn’t this deep spiritual connection. It’s a gray area in between that I can’t fully articulate.

If our female ancestors let every and any man fuck them the human race would have died a long time ago due to genetically and mentally subpar males being able to spread their genes.

I'm new here, and an older woman, married, and 'first wave' feminist. Feminism was never about giving yourself away and feeling degraded and used. It only gave women the right to engage in sex or not, whatever is best for you and serves your purposes and desires. It made sex for women not taboo anymore, but was never intended to make you more available to men for sex.

Theres any problem with casual sex by itself, the problems are the oversexualiced society, wich forced womens and young girls to think that they must be a sexual object for man pleasure or they litrally are men haters worse than trash who never find love.

Actual womens are always in a lose way with the casual sex, cause presented it as epowered without made us capable of select and reject without any negative consecuence, helps culture of dick adoration, and help to coertion womens sexuality.

Also, casual sex is a real danger for womens live's and security, males are rapist, sadistic and murderers, and we can't know that.

Yeah I'm sorry that sucks. But I really feel that this *really* dependent on communcation -- communicating expectations and mutually coming to terms with what you both want. I've had instances where I definitely felt used and gross afterwards.. even after we've had the conversation of what we both want, but then I realized that I was having sex with them and agreeing to it because THEY wanted to -- no necessarily because I WANTED to. I feel much better about asking myself that question now, but sometimes it's hard to make that space for yourself to ask yourself what you want, which I think should happen with yourself before that conversation with the other party happens.

The thing is, even with casual sex I have requirements. I was fwb with a guy for a couple years and I let him know from the get go, I still expect to be treated like a human being. I'm not going to enjoy sex with someone I don't like.. And he agreed with that.

We went out for dinner and drinks, we considered each other friends who we could talk to and do things with. The only thing was we weren't and had no plan to be in a relationship. Our friends just assumed we were dating, and we never really corrected anyone since it wasn't anyone's business to know we were just fwb.

I've been in that situation with other guys and same thing.. I'm upfront that I'm not booty call material. If sex is all a guy has to offer, then I'm not interested.

Now, as far as casually having sex with several different guys, I wouldn't be comfortable with that and just haven't done it. I don't see anything liberating about exposing myself to a bigger STD risk. I don't even see the point or why having sex with a lot of different guys all the time is supposed to be fun. But that's just my perception.

I mean, it can be empowering. But that’s only if all parties are on the same page and adhere to a specific set of expectations; if it makes you feel used it isn’t for you and that’s totally fine! But it is for some women and that doesn’t mean we don’t know our worth- I’ll have casual sex here and there but I’ll never let a man disrespect me. I just catch that O and then send him home lol

That is not the fault of feminism. Some friends of mine do find this empowering and enjoy it to be able to fuck three different guys a week. I do not, so I don’t do it. Feminism is about giving everyone the possibility to do what they want to do!
