I’m currently in the late stages of being hired for my dream job with the government... They finished a thorough background check where they called my job and talked to my manager/coworkers. A week later as i’m working one of my female coworkers makes a comment about my height, I’m 5’9” and she’s close to 6’. I then call her “gigantic” referring to her height. She makes this huge scene and tells all my coworkers how I verbally abused her. Next thing I know she tells my manager and refuses to work with me. I wrote her an apology letter and tried apologizing numerous times and she pretty much did not accept it and also ripped up my letter. At this point i’m afraid she’ll call who is hiring me and could just pretty much ruin everything. I don’t know what to do, everything just seems so ridiculous to me and blown out of proportion.
