This post is for those of you who get stuck making up excuses in your mind for a guy who isn't communicating enough.

I've done it too: "He copied down my number wrong", "his phone is having issues", "his laptop had a virus", "he's busy with work", "he just switched phones", etc. While I think some of these reasons, such as being busy with work, for example, are valid in general, I have noticed that men have used the following unconventional platforms to slide into either my or my friend's DMs with their flirtatious messages:

  1. Handwritten notes under your door, on your car, or in your shoe...🤪
  2. LinkedIn
  3. Skype for business (they have no shame 🥴, must be busy at work lmao...)
  4. Emails (I think this is less common than it used to be)

I'd be interested to hear your stories on weird ways men have contacted you - both the good hvm ones and the thirsty AF lvm ones.

Sliding into the DMs of women they are interested in is what men do. If they really like you, they will go to great lengths to find ways to message you using whatever means necessary. Often their messages are also unwelcome, annoying, thirsty, and low value, especially if they message you through a platform you do not want flirty messages on. But sometimes a man may have really just lost your number for some reason and is trying to find a way to reach out to the woman he cares about. Their creativity can be both problematic (exes, lvm, etc) or desirable (a hvm who genuinely lost the conventional way of contacting you and wants to continue pursuing).

My point is that men find ways. And therefore it is important to remember to take any of these lack of communication excuses with a big grain of salt.
