Yes there are many black conservatives and many more coming, its called Blexit - be left or right thats absolutely fine, but your skin colour, gender, sexuality should not mean you automatically vote for one or another.. that is racism, sexism for people to think all POC or genders think the same and are a hive mind. Identity politics is racism and sexism.

As a Black woman and RPW, I feel no need to ascribe or align myself to conservative political values. The two ideals do not go hand in hand.

Then I would work through why you expect that -- is it a reflection of how you see your own opinions or how you see the people around you? I'm a bleeding heart liberal and I have had multiple honest conversations with conservatives (at work, with family friends, and twitter) that didn't end the way you seem to think they would.

Of course, your success most likely depends on your definition of the word conservative. If you believe in personal responsibility and small government, I don't see you having issues. If your primary concern is praising Trump, arresting BLM protestors and dismantling the Affordable Care Act, you might have a problem on your hands.

I am not (left-leaning libertarian) but I am familiar with the Black Conservative Movement. I don't know if you have seen this but this is one of my absolute favorite features by Vice. The conservative commentators on the panel were very articulate and refused to fall into the victimhood mentality, although I may not agree with everything they said.

I don’t have anything useful to add really, I just want to say that I hope you can find some like-minded people to let your guard down around. I know that RPW has been one of those places for me, and brought a great deal of peace and contentment to my life. I’m sure it’s even harder to find that sort of community if you’re black and not mainstream politically, but it’s got to be out there— there’s a community for everything online. And maybe even in your area in real life, who knows. Best of luck.

Hi! I’m 15 and a black conservative. Being a very traditional and conservative teen girl is sometimes quite difficult because I am unable to express my opinions. I doubt I’ll ever be able to share my opinions because my friends are definitely on the complete opposite side of the political spectrum and not at all optimistic or accepting of any other political opinion. Online groups conservative teens and red pill woman in general have been an exceptional outlet for me! Sorry for rambling, but yes! There are other black conservatives on here and it is a pleasure to meet you!

They exist. I'm not black but my best friend is and she's conservative. She's also pretty open with her beliefs but she does seem to censor herself a bit, but she's never faced crucifixion for the conservative beliefs she has shared because people tend to really respect her. Plus we live in Canada, where everyone and their mother is super liberal so that's saying something.

So firstly, I don't know anyone else in real life that uses this sub. Though I do know a fair number of kick-ass black conservatives in real life, and I know them from church(I also live in a much more conservative part of the country).

Secondly, I encourage you to explore and be yourself. I am conservative politically(mostly a constitutionalist, who wants basic freedoms protected and the government to leave us alone when it comes to everything else.) While I'm not black I grew up very, very poor on the wrong side of the tracks, and have lived in areas where we did hear gun fire on occasion... never did I see any of the extra funding or government programs ever do one lick of good for anyone black or white. The people who succeeded, succeeded on their own through hard work. That said I do believe in private charity, philanthropy, and generosity. I think true charity needs a human touch, it can't be bureaucratically handed out or people fail to realize that someone else worked hard for the amount that they get in assistance.

Thirdly, you live in an area that is going to be rough if you want to question the popular opinion. However, I know a lot of conservative youtubers and speakers live in LA so there are definitely places you can go and people you can meet in your area that would be more open to having those discussions with you.

Fourthly, as a conservative woman I do have to keep my political beliefs strictly under wraps at work despite the fact that liberals freely discuss their opinions. However this is because personally I'd prefer politics be kept out of the workplace altogether. I find it unprofessional, you're bound to make someone uncomfortable, and at the end of the day it doesn't really achieve anything other than perhaps creating workplace drama(or planting the seeds of it).

I see you know Candace Owens, so some of my other suggestions for black conservatives(of varying degrees of left to right wing) would be:

Ayaan Hirsi Ali(very brilliant woman who escaped an abusive family in Somalia),
Thomas Sowell(evidence based analysis of how "helping" the black community has done mostly harm),
Shelby Steele(history based analysis of black community and their issues),
Glenn Loury(the first African American to be granted tenure in Harvard's economics department back in the 1970s )
Jason Riley(discusses how the black community made different choices than other communities and the effects today)
John McWhorter(Columbia University linguist who looks at language to understand racial inequality

These would be the people who I have read and would recommend to anyone!

Living in california and working in that industry, I strongly recommend you keep hiding your beliefs.

I'm sorry it has to be this way, it shouldn't, not in this country anyway. But you need to be pragmatic.
