Hello everyone! :) Just looking for some advice about the best way to tactfully handle criticism from my family, and hopefully just kinda put this issue to rest.

I have a rather large family, with a couple of brothers and a few sisters; all of my sisters are in LTRs, and are (seemingly) very happy. Occasionally, after third wheeling with a sister or two and their SOs, I'll casually say something along the lines of how I'm excited about the prospect of finding a boyfriend and being in something long-term after seeing how happy they are. They tend to reply with something like "You know you don't NEED a man, right?" or "I wouldn't be concerned at all about dating at 23. I know people who didn't get married until into their 30s. You have time." I get similar responses when I talk about how wanting to be a wife and having a happy family is one of my biggest aspirations in life. They get shocked that my aspirations aren't career-focused, but are instead family-oriented. I can't help but feel as though no one would bat an eye if I was talking about how I wanted to be a CEO of a company, or something.

I understand I don't NEED a man to be happy, but it gets tiring defending the fact that I want to be married someday, from people in long-term relationships. So in short, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about ways to respond to these sorts of things. I'm just starting to get a little frustrated, because I no longer feel as though I can talk about anything guy-related (aka dating stories) without seeming like I'm boy-crazy or something.
