Best LTR strategy using RM as a guide

When I started darling my current bf I told him that after one date, I’ll know if I want another. After three dates, I’ll know if I want to be exclusive. After six months of being exclusive, I’ll know if I want to move in. After three months of living together I’ll know if a LTR will work. I also told him that I want to get married, and although I don’t want to rush into marriage, I expect a proposal sooner than later.

We celebrate our one year next week, he’s shopping for rings, I’m looking at destination weddings for 2022.

I think these ranking systems are so subjective bc of personal preference that not only do they not work, they de-humanize the dating process and don’t allow for real connections. I’ve dated plenty of successful, handsome men that were great men, they just weren’t great for me.

I think having a timeline, knowing who you are and what you want, and having hard opinions about finances and children set a woman up for more success in dating than this system would.

Regardless, I understand that numbers and rankings are just trying to break down dating into something measurable, and I respect how hard that is.

Hmm I’m not sure. Most very high SMV men I know would rather stay single and date lots of women long-term, and only will they consider exclusively if they consider one women to be equally, if not higher SMV than themselves

I mean if you want to be in an ideal LTR you shouldn’t really be comparing yourself and your partner like that right? SMV/RMV is pretty subjective really.

It depends how you rank success. Men who are intrinsically motivated vs extrinsically motivated value interesting and challenging work over a high salary. Looks are also very subjective.

There's no viable LTR strategy for women older than late 20s seeking a high-SMV man. Before that, the strategy seems to be, on average, date slightly below yourself in looks, significantly above it in age (F25 to M35 at the low end), and extremely above yourself in economic value.

This is what I see play out in my circles for that minority of relatively high SMV men that ever marry in the circle of nouveaux-riches technologists in their early 30s to late 40s. IME a man's wealth and TC (RMV) on their own don't have a meaningful correlation with their willingness or desire to settle down. When combined with a high SMV of looks and build, settling down is less common than not through the entire age group, but those who do universally select less successful but more attractive women.

Education may play a role because most technologists only have a bachelor's and men tend not to marry women of higher education but I have no insight on this knowing not the relevant educational levels.

This could play no role in high TC men because I suspect education level itself is entirely irrelevant but proxies earning power. That is men don't date highly educated women not because of the level of intersectional and feminist indoctrination they fear they'll encounter, but because of earning power and age with more educated women tending to be higher earners (smaller pool of men to select from) and older (lower SMV and RMV). That is, men don't date higher education = men don't date older or higher earners.

If earning power actually mediates the education effect, it would be nonexistent for high-earning men assuming the baccalaureate and doctoral woman are the same age.

The best advice I think is to think in terms of RMV instead of SMV. Over the course of your life, almost everyone gets uglier.

As for the details, women tend to to hit their SMV prime around 25 to 27 and then it starts to decline. Men probably peak around 35.

Here's the kicker, a women's RMV also starts to go down as she her fertility starts to decreases in her early to mid 30s. Guys start to decline in around 40.

So if a woman tries to lock in a guy as her SMV is declining and the guy's is increasing, it's going to be more difficult, especially if she has kids. If she waits till her fertility is decreasing, then the age of men she's reasonably going to be able to attract goes up considerably. Most guys around 35 aren't looking to date a woman over 30.

So the best time advise I would say is either lock a high quality / high potential guy in before you both turn 25. If you wait past 30 (especially 35), that chances increase considerably that you'll either only be able to get a guy 5-15 years older than you (your trading what little youth you have left) or a guy who is roughly close to your level, or more than likely below, in terms of socio-economics and looks.

On the flip side, there is a huge unacknowledged movement for a lot of guys I know to completely give up on dating. NGL, it kinda freaks me out a bit.
