What I have to offer

Physical: I’m 23. I’m 5’4. I stay active. I have a nice figure and my hair is tailbone length & well-cared for. My nails are usually painted/neat. I do my makeup well. I dress nicely & I have clean white teeth.

Intellectual: STEM grad, multilingual, and with diverse interests. From religion/philosophy, to science/technology, & politics I’m always happy to engage in conversation respectfully & learn about others’ backgrounds/beliefs. I’m currently interviewing for jobs in my field & I am tutoring/homeschooling children in the meantime. So although I’m not rich, I am good at managing my finances and I value experiences more than “things.”

& most importantly...

Emotional/Personal: Although my academic/professional background requires my dominant side, as a person I’m very submissive- especially with a masculine man. With him, I’d be excited to start a family, take care of our home, tend to his emotional/physical needs, & just overall be his ‘good girl.’

But the concern is that I rarely if ever connect with someone. Things can look great on paper between me & a guy, but emotionally the connection just isn’t there. There’s just no “bond”/ I haven’t “imprinted” on him. Now before you ask, I’m NOT an alpha widow & I know for sure I can emotionally/spiritually bond with the right man, I just feel like I don’t know how to find him. I’ve tried online dating & blind dates set up by friends. I’ve also been approached randomly in public on numerous occasions so it’s not like I’m giving off Ice Queen vibes.

How can I safely escalate romantic interactions to see if he & I are on the same page emotionally/spiritually? What I crave is a really intense bond that goes beyond “are we compatible?” I am East European (raised in USA) & I used to teach Sunday school & I’m still involved in my church community, but even the men there don’t seem to match with me bc they didn’t care about spirituality at all- they were just at church to find a ‘placeholder’ wife.

I’m a sensitive, affectionate person with a LOT of love & happiness to share, but I simply just feel like an alien in many social interactions— as if I’m watching over it from above— because I can count on one hand the people I’ve truly felt connected with.

I sincerely like my life, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to meet a good man to share it all with. And since I’m not interested in riding the CC (I haven’t had intercourse in ~8 months and the time before that was a year prior), it makes more sense for me to find someone who is serious. The older guys I’ve met in the past tended to have abusive/controlling traits so I’m not sure it’s a good idea to exclusively seek older men.

Is there something else I can be doing/something that I’m missing? Or should I just keep living a fulfilling life & put myself out there and hope for the best? Since I’m 23, I’m not in any crazy hurry to get married, but I’m also not interested in wasting any time.

Help!
