My brother works in Baltimore installing alarms for adt... business is booming... he says the area is an absolute shithole, drugs, crime etc... also this can’t be true, paying criminals to not commit crimes? Isn’t that how the mob and hostage situations work? This seriously is fuckin clown world

Those row homes in downtown Baltimore used to be nice before the 1960s. One side of my family all grew up there. When I was kid and we would go downtown to Orioles games, all I heard was "This used to be a nice neighborhood."

Baltimore is a great example of monetized white flight. Not only was blockbusting used to chase people out of downtown clusters, think of the wide real estate 'suburban' market it opened up. All those new housing developments moving further outside the city proper because of "white people are scared of blacks" was big business. Shopping centers, strip malls, gas stations, families need (multiple) cars, etc.

Then of course a few decades later, money slowly moves back in. Fringes of 'bad neighborhoods' get re-developed and kids wanna live downtown again in overpriced apts because now it's an "arts district".

Everything is a scam.

There's no shortage of asinine "solutions" when the asses are using other people's money to pay for them.

Yes I agree, the criminals should be paid a weekly allowance to make sure they don't commit crimes. Then for the sake of logistics it just makes sense to organize them to make sure everyone gets their cut if you will. That way, we can finally achieve the ultimate safety by bringing back the mob, but woke.
