I think of it as if he was approaching me in real life.

Just a 'hey' or 'hi sexy' or 'nice smile' gets an immediate block from me.

A huge opening paragraph is also a turnoff. I'm not buying a boyfriend - you don't need to give me a sales pitch immediately.

Something simple like: "Hi! Nice to meet you. I'm (insertnamehere) and I saw you like hiking in your profile. Been anywhere unique lately?"

It shows he read my profile + he asked a question to prompt a conversational response from me. This is something that quite literally takes less than a minute to do, and yet men refuse to put any effort in since they have been taught quantity over quality.

I believe that for every 100 men, only about 10-15 of them are high value.

Based on my personal experience, when it comes to online dating, for every 100 men you meet on there, only ONE of them is going to be high value.

Those odds aren't worth having an OLD profile 😂😂😂 I've done the leg work, hundreds of swipes, hours of phone conversations and a few wasted hours/days over shitty or awkward dates. Some of them I did like, but they used me to get over an ex girlfriend and then ghosted

I only met one OKAY guy (in comparison to every other guy I'd met on OLD) and that was on PlentyOfFish.

He didn't watch porn and let me go at my own pace, wasnt perverted or touchy, treated me like a lady, booked me a cab home after every single date we had. And he still turned out to be an arse hole a whole year later.

Don’t use OLD- any hvm is NOT going to be on there and online dating reduces you to a product to be marketed.

If you really want to find someone to date, make your friend circles larger. Date a friend of a friend who comes with glowing references.

I don’t use OLD and it’s been a long time since I have, but I would appreciate something observant. Something that shows he isn’t one of those guys that swipe right on everyone. Maybe he refers to something I’m doing in one of my photos like hiking or reading. Something that shows he’s actually interested.

Not some stupid “hey gorgeous.”

Something personal. A question about something from my profile or pictures would be a good jumping off point. Anything really impersonal like an “ice breaker” joke is probably sent to every girl he swipes on.

I no longer use OLD, because they are a cesspit of LVM, but when I did, I was favorably impressed by men who bothered to read my bio and ask me something about it. Like maybe 5% of matches would do that.

Most men didn't bother, and went right to the skeevy sex talk, which got them blocked and deleted.

Trust your gut! Does it feel like he is making a genuine attempt at initiating a conversation with you?

Anything that feels like he copy+pastes it to all his matches gets an unmatch from me. Anything that shows some thought went into it gets a reply.

There's still plenty of time for the dude to weed himself out so I wouldn't worry too much about it :)

When they referenced my profile. So many just look at the pictures and message women they think are hot. If a guy actually read my profile and asked about it, I'd usually respond.

So like, "I love Jim Butcher! What's your favorite book?"

Or "What board games do you like best?".

I was pretty much done with OLD when I happened upon my now boyfriends profile. It was so well written and interesting but referenced something I was unfamiliar with. I sent him a message asking “what is x?” He sent me a detailed reply following up with an interesting question related to the topic. I was pretty taken aback as it seemed like it was all about me and our conversation.

I think that’s it. What worked for me wouldn’t work for a load of you. The key is an honest interaction based upon a genuine connection.

Any boy who starts with Hey, [insert objectifying word like baby beautiful sexy smiles honey gorgeous] is an automatic block. He will pump&dump every girl he can.

Any clever line is a block, he's copy-pasted it from r/tinder to 100 girls.

"Hey" alone is lazy. He matches with everyone and throws it out line a fishing lure. Block

I only replied to messages that were written for me specifically. "Good morning/ afternoon/ evening/ Monday" etc, as long as it's accurate to the time and day.
