This is a really shitty way in which the hypocrisy of some people manifests. When a woman complains about a guy having a "fragile" egos what they are doing really is demonising the guy for actually expressing emotions. The way women see emotion is that it must be crying or sadness ignoring the fact that anger and being annoyed are just as valid emotions as any. Women have these emotions too but when a man has them they are seen as violent and scary. A male's fragile egos is a man ( oftentimes understandably) being annoyed at a situation, expressing their grievance and then having a bunch of women that don't understand there own biases call him aggressive or toxic. A good example of this is men on dating apps. Women complain when a man gets angry on a dating app because she simply said she didn't want to talk anymore. What she fails to realise is that she has never been rejected and has never asked out a guy. She has no understanding of the negative emotions that might entail. She forgets the fact that she expected him to approach her and start and continue a conversation. And instead of taking the time to meaningfully engage the guy it may seem like she was simply not engaged in the conversation. The entitlement is knowing that despite having to do all the work your actions have little effect on the outcome. This for many can feel like Sisyphus. This is an experience that no women will ever have to go through whether online or while dating and so will simply fail to empathise. A guy being "fragile" and reacting to this is completely healthy and natural. If we are talking about fragility i could just as easily make some note about how women are more emotional and have a higher perception of victimisation then men even when there less in danger. Now I'm not saying that women should simply suck it up and take abuse. You have every right to be annoyed. Just don't demonise a gender for it.
When we talk about emotions we have a whole spectrum and what I've seen in many women is that they are very willing to want a guy who will cry but not one that will shout. And before you say that one is a good thing and the other is aggressive. NOT TRUE. Crying is a shitty way to deal with your emotions. There is no conclusive evidence that crying makes you feel better. Any benefit is felt in a small amount of people and never consistently. (discalimer: for some people, it might but for the average person all it does is make you ruminate also this doesn't mean I want people to hold back tears. Crying is just an expression of emotion the real part is how you then deal with the emotions.) This extends to displaying your emotions. Im sorry but if you go on the internet to cry about your issues your not a mature person. Yet women see this as some kind of sign of emotional intelligence. Women you are not better at emotions. In fact women are less mature than men. Women on average are absolute GARBAGE at dealing with there emotions in comparison to men (disclaimer: this is hyperbole women are no better or worse at dealing with their emotions). Women will self ruminate letting their problems spiral into depression. They can overshare. Talking to other people about your problems is great. And its something men definitely need to work on. But women often have the habit of oversharing and telling everyone their problems. Social sharing can have some benefits when you keep it to close friends and relatives who might be able to actually help with your problem. Moreover, many of the benefits get overhyped. If you have a problem in your life whats best is that you actually try to fix it instead of complaining to people about it. Suppressing your emotions is bad but that not what most men do. Most men are very capable to handling there emotions they just don't feel the need to express them in the same way. They would rather do something. And we can see this has more or less the same effect.
Just saying it makes no sense to me how can men be more confident then women and be more self assure and yet have a fragile ego? And if they do how is that ther fault? I have never seen any study or research that shows men have more fragile egos. The concept of masculinity might be more fragile but only because as a society being a man is not defined biologically but by your achievements. A girl becomes a woman when she has her puberty. She is immediately given value in society. A boy becomes a man after going through some gruelling trial to "prove" themselves i.e financial/ social succes. The idea that because men are under more pressure to prove themselves men are at fault is just victim-blaming. ( and FYI this is not part of the patriarchy). If you want guys to be more comfortable with masculinity fine but don't bash them for doing what women do all the time and express their emotions.
