I work in Oil & Natural Gas and I can afford a Ferrari. Though this is Canada not California ~ I would only get a good three months of it.

Spending my money on a Ferrari would be blue pill, though. If a woman thinks you're hot because you have a Ferrari - it's because she eventually wants money or child support out of you.

The only reason I would buy a ferrari is because I've always loved driving and motorsports, they are stunning to look at and they are incredible pieces of engineering. If you buy a car for the status alone, I think you are a bit of a chump.

At least on a reasonable tarmac surface, yes. Ferrari's all get tested around the country roads surrounding their maranello factory as well as racetracks, so they will be perfectly at home on worn out backroads. Cross country though, through really bad road surfaces, perhaps not. I can't find any online versions but I have old Top Gear Magazines where they drove a Lamborghini Aventadore across the dirt roads of the Australian outback, and one where they drive a Ferrari 612 through Africa. There's also a TV episode where they drive a bunch of supercars including a Ferrari California through Romania, including some seriously bad rural roads. So it's possible but I doubt it's doing the car any good.

If you want a ferrari to tackle bad roads, you want the Ferrari FF. Awesome piece of engineering. 650HP, 4WD, and active suspension that can be electronically lifted front and rear for extra ground clearance.

It's tough for the sheer awesomeness of a Ferrari to not simply put everything into perspective. Context is certainly important but I imagine if I was driving a Berlinetta, issues of child support or even concepts concerning what women want would cease to enter my mind.

Even beyond the personal ramifications of owning one, the existence of the thing demands respect alone. A Ferrari is an an artifact of human achievement and artistry.

Indeed, a person simply relating it only within their own pathetic paradigm of self worth is almost sacrilege and could certainly be deemed "Blue Pill".

Similarly you could be an anarchist railing against the military-industrial complex yet the achievement of an F-22 fighter can't be ignored.

besides i think a ferrari is way too overpriced. a porsche would probably have roughly the same effect, and the price is only a fraction compared with the price of a ferrari.

i dont know how much an imported porsche costs, but they go for slightly over 100k$ in germany.

i'd say the fun is worth it.

There are quite a few Porsches in the US. Nearly every doctor or partner at a law firm has one. Ferraris on the other hand are incredibly rare, especially outside of the large cities.

Not necessarily. You always need some level of game, it's just that wealth tends to lower that level by a couple orders of magnitude. There are thousands of Silicon Valley millionaires that still post "forever alone" online despite it all because they don't even make the lower bar.

Wealth is a symbol of status much like preselection is. Similarly, if you're a famous guy but you're broke, you still have a much lower bar than the average man because of the preselection that fame gives(at least a few thousand fans worth).

An interesting corollary to this is that it's possible to present the image of "wealth" without actually possessing it. It's trite but true that "clothes make the man." I think you're all conflating a whole bunch of things here. Firstly, if a man came up to most MEN asking if they want a ride in their Ferrari, a hefty proportion of guys would wet themselves with excitement. Of course you're all going to be contrary and disagree, but it's true. Secondly, half of these girls getting in were doing it for the excitement of driving around vegas in a Ferrari. Thirdly, it's ridiculous to think that behaviour along the lines of "i will change my mind about you if you own this Ferrari" is bad. It's the way it works, and it's not bad.

It'd be like if, on the flip side, a girl in a fat suit was asking guys out, who say no, then revealing that she's actually a super-model porn star, to who the guys then say yes. This would not be a surprise, and it wouldn't be 'unacceptable'.

This video isn't showing anything surprising, your reactions are getting clouded by some sort of weird anger, making yis miss the bigger, obvious, picture.

In agreement. I would not suggest that she wanted anything else. I've also lived long enough and seen enough shitty behavior that I won't say definitively that he couldn't have gotten her to sleep with him that day or on a later date.

The guys in the video are beta and I wouldn't want a long-term relationship with anyone that I picked up with the tactics they used. That's not to say I wouldn't sleep with a materialistic single woman because I do so occasionally.

Interesting misconception about women. It doesn't have to be an exotic, especially if there are lots of them around in her area. I have gotten laid a hell of a lot driving a loud 79 Formula with really bad paint, big tires, and no interior, just two seats and the requirements for driving it. Always get looks from women in that thing, and it was ugly and certainly no Ferrari. It is faster than an F40 up to 140, but it sure isn't what most guys would think of as a panty dropper.

They want to get noticed, they want to stand out to get the validation. A Ferrari can do that in many locales, but where there are hundreds of them a rat rod will do better for you. Having a fast car that is obviously a second car shows status as well, I'm not talking a Civic with a wing or a GT Mustang, I mean a ride that will scare most people and runs low 12s or quicker in the quarter mile. Having it look fast will get some interest, but it actually being fast changes your attitude, because you know its bad and you act much more alpha in it.
