I (36F) have been talking to this guy (41m) for about a week. He’s super funny, and his personality hits me just right. He owns his own business, and he seems to be doing well financially.

For our first date, he asked me to go to a super cheap/run-down Thai food place with like 2 fold-out tables as its “dining area” 40 minutes away (we live within 5 minutes from each other). When I laughed at the suggestion and told him that I wasn’t going to drive 40 minutes, he changed it to a closer (also very cheap) Thai food place with a very non-date atmosphere.

What does this mean? Is this like a test or something? What would you do in this situation?
