Women's lack of conscious was my biggest upset. They can go behind their man's back shopping for a monkey-branched upgrade and not feel one iota of guilt. Here's the best way I can describe this. Forget about MGTOW for a minute and forget about AWALT, NAWALT and Unicorns.

Instead go back to the Disney dream we've all been sold on, and continue to get sold on.

I'm writing a book, so I'll just quote this :

It literally all starts with Hollywood. I mean literally. From that very first Disney movie, our expectations change. Disney sells us on a dream that each one of us are princes who will secure the princess. That includes you and me. We dreamed along with Disney and I can assure you, no one ever identified with the losers or the extras. We all got suckered into believing we were the main characters. Our own lives would turn out OK. If there is one thing I loved about a Disney movie as a kid is how it made you feel like everything is possible and everything would be OK. It was cause for immediate celebration after all the hero of that Disney movie made it look so easy. The Disney universe always offers up a very simple dichotomy. Life outside this simply doesn’t exist. The wretch (The main character), who is ultimately good, who you can immediately identify because you are truly (and currently) wretched must endure and overcome some form of evil, keep a merry heart and morality and at the very last-minute justice will roll in and his hearts desires will be met. The Disney world regarding courting is too overly simplified. If any competition exists, the antagonist is the personification of evil who the damsel is revolted by anyways. And while the damsel often initially appears disinterested in the protagonist, this is a mere bluff. In the Disney universe the damsel too has no major competition and our prince and princess are always perfect soul mates. If only life was so simple and yet this is what was bestowed upon your young impressionable mind. This is the lie. You might find that dream or you may spend your whole life chasing it and be miserable because of it. It’s time we start having an honest discussion.

Ok, so that above is what I mean about the Disney dream. Obviously, with this assumption and understanding of life, it's really easy to fail.

My actual experience was that I never did find that princess. I actually did but it turns out she was a liar or a real AWALT.

In the end, I settled down with someone I wouldn't call my dream girl or soul mate. We get along and it's not terrible, but if you had told me as a teenager I would end up like this I would have told you that you're crazy.

I'm in this relationship though because, at 40, I know from the state of females out there that I would remain single if this relationship ends.

My advice to you (or my younger self), would be STOP going about finding this woman by going to parties and getting drunk. From an early age, I should have gotten my shit together and rather than trying to be all exciting or life of the party, instead just focus on being stable being much more smart about it.

A lot of the time I was just trying to have something or someone while I was looking for "the one", but this is a bullshit approach and proved to be a total waste of time.

The problem is, that even if you manage to find a unicorn, there's almost zero chance of her staying that way for decades, so marriage is definitely out of the question. You also mentioned being interested in staying childfree, and in that case, marriage simply serves no purpose and has no advantages. I know that if you're not married the hospital won't grant your SO automatic visitation rights, but think about it: if you misjudged a chameleon, and she's the reason you're in a hospital, then isn't that a good thing?

In theory, I believe in unicorns, in practise, I don't. I've written this before on mgtow2~ But I'll state my view on it again. Biology is a messy subject with exceptions for everything, so any rule that says "all x", I will theoretically always dismiss.

There are cute videos out there of cats adopting birds and other animals they'd usually hunt. I've personally experienced a guy having such a comfortable relationship with a crocodile he could sit next to it, and occasionally even give it a kiss on the snout, without being attacked. And humans, just like all other animals, are the same.

However, just because one guy can make it work with a crocodile under some unique circumstance, doesn't mean I'd even attempt to do the same, even less so with any random crocodile. Same goes for women, a small percentage might not be that bad, but is it worth taking that chance? Or is it statistically better and safer to live *as if* awalt is true? I'd go with the latter.

We know from statistics that 50% of marriages end in divorce, 70% of them initiated by women. If the woman earns more than the man, the divorce rate shoots up to 70%. If the woman loses weight and becomes more attractive, the divorce rate goes further up to 85%. I heard a statistic of around 13% of long-term relationships described themselves as truly and passionately happy. I'm sorry, I'm not going to take such a small chance, when I know I can be happy without taking such risk.

Also, there has been shown statistical correlations between the economy & relationships-- its actually a talking point for feminists, that women feel "forced to" stay in "bad" relationships, where they get hand-outs, because they'd otherwise be homeless-- Of course, not even a choice that men have, and one they seemingly opt into themselves.

And women haven't changed since the days where the nuclear family "worked"-- It's merely that the different times would force them to stay in unhappy marriages, and it was probably hell for both of them.

Of course you can marry but Mgtow isn’t telling you what to do, just telling you there is another option. You don’t have to be someone’s mule. You can have a fulfilling life for yourself.

Unicorns do not exist, but good women due. A woman who has subdued her female nature and has learned to enhance her man is a good woman. The issue is our current society is rigging the system to make them harder to find, and harder for the women to actually become a good woman.

Just know this, to rearrange your life in anticipation of a good woman to come would be foolish. Instead get used to the idea of never finding one: so you will be mature and developed enough to actually find a REAL one and not a fake. If you still deeply crave a good woman, you will most likely become hasty due to your perceived lack and jump the gun. Also it takes experience to be able to filter out the real from the imposters.

Also, I am the same age as you. We have plenty of time. We don't have a biological clock to race against. Use this time to build your skills and character: for yourself, and for the good woman that you hope to find.

You need to have life experience, you need to analyze your old relationships, how many women have you dated, length of relationships, what happen did she or you break up etc.....

I dating from 18 to 23 and then 29 to 41, i had 2 long term relationships, when the ex left me at 41 i still had hopes to meet a good women..... then reality hit me, after going online dating and meeting 40y old women through friends etc......

Strong independent women, single fat moms, and all those women rejected me, but they had nothing to offer me either, there looks where long gone, they had kids that where not mine, full time most of the time, low paying jobs..... and mental issues, depression, where lazy as fuck.....

So i just stop chasing women and got used to live alone...... life is far better now.

The days of traditional marriage are not over, IMO, but social media has made it more difficult by giving people a false idea of what's out there for them. This can put a strain on many marriages.

AWALT is what you make it, when you think about it. It doesn't have to be a bad thing; for instance, if one said all women are maternal (for the sake of this example), that wouldn't be a bad trait. The idea of AWALT is based on common inherent and genetic traits that many women have, and people just lump women into whatever category they're referring to. For fairness sake, one can easily say AMALT too.

I believe that many types of people share common traits, whether cultural or genetic, but realistically there will be outliers, and depending on how you define "Unicorn", that will determine whether you found one or not. In the motorcycle community, for example, a woman who rides her own bike is called a unicorn.

If I found a "Unicorn" (a good woman by my standards), no, I wouldn't change my MGTOW belief, because I don't know who that woman will be in 5, 10, 20 years down the line. Plus, I'm not programmed to be comfortable in relationships; I'm dismissive-avoidant (search "attachment theory"). So, I can only date casually, and even that is getting old.

I don't think men are doomed to not trust women. Good men just need to know themselves well (psychologically) and learn how to find good women, and they each have to be willing to go out on a limb and trust each other. As for me, I think I am destined to be alone, and I'm comfortable with that.

I don't believe in AWALT. There are good women out there and good men who manage to get them. They do so behind the scenes and nobody notices them.

Just like thots don't notice 80% of the men, many don't notice the happy married couples who are doing their thing quietly behind the scenes.

Mind you, I do believe 95% of single/divorced women are undatable. 90% narcissist 5% sociopath. Of the 5% who are datable, they are usually off the guys' radar, so the competition is not as high.

This said, from someone who has experience with sentimental relationship with (young) women, and who comes from divorced parents and has your same dreams, I can say this:

TL;DR

Marriages can work, as long as you don't marry the first woman you meet and are willing to put work into it.

Awalt is bullshit. It's a stereotype, it's as bad as stereotypes are, and flawed from its very conception.

It was born when divorce-rape started making the news, and working marriages didn't, because nobody cared about those. So yeah, apparently all marriages end in divorce-rape, but if only you look around yourself you'll see marriages that still work, with people of all ages (almost, as I'm not counting forced marriages, people jumping straight from "hey i just met you" to "marry me", et simila) both married and happy.

My grandparents, and most of the older populace around me, for example. They're happy, and they've always been. And it really looks like they aren't going to stop any soon. Do you remember this meme? Yeah. It works like that, for the most part.

The following generation is, well, a bit more problematic. As I said, my parents divorced, as many other couples the same age did. My parents were all but compatible, and tbh my father was (and still is) kind of an ass. But my father didn't get divorce raped, and both my parents later remarried into different and are currendly going strong after 13 and 9 years of marriage. It's not too long of a period, but it's something.

The next generation, mine, is still a bit too early to say because, well, I've yet to see people my age getting married. And this is good! If you aren't married, you sure as hell can't get divorce raped! But I think the main reason I've yet to see any is because nobody I know has held a significant other for long enough.

And I see it starting from my extended family, with all but one of my cousins having a new so, or a new crush/"target" every other week, and I'm talking about both boys and girls, men and women. People looking for the breeze of the one night stand, for those 10 minutes of sex in a pub's bathroom. People living for shallow relationships, that inevitably end the moment sex starts to grow old in the slightest. People who spent their teens so out of touch with their emotions that anything that strikes their heart's chords is seen as true love, only to fade as quickly at it begun. And this carries on, in a way, into marriage.

When you get married you're making quite the commitment, but if you can't trust yourself and your feelings, how can you trust your partner's? So you never really do, and eventually the fire vanishes and you're left there, eating shit, either divorcing or suffering for the rest of your life. Because one thing is to be said, marriage requires alchemy; you can make it work in a lot of ways, but for it to work on its own you'll need its own kind of magic.

Bottom line is, marriage worked until the youth changed. It may be that marriage has become outdated, but I think that's mainly the youth not suited to live something as long as the rest of your life with a single idea.

My honest answers is I do think these days are over. Women are sleeping around a lot more so the science involved with "love" isn't what it used to be. If you are going to find a unicorn (which I think is highly unlikely) it's probably going to be with a religious woman who practices abstinence.

If I found a unicorn I wouldn't go out of my way. I've dated a ton of women and they all end up being the same, it just takes time to reveal their true natures in my opinion.

When I was young I just wanted a chill life. A nice simple job, coming home to a nice simple home with a nice simple family. I was the most kind natured, nice teenager around. I was respectful, hard-working, selfless, inclusive. And I would've stayed that way forever if not for the shit I've been through.

Despite me doing nothing but trying to mind my own business and be kind to others I have had shit rained down upon me all my life. After all the drama, abuse, accusations, fights, stress, money lost I've suffered through either directly or indirectly due to women, I'm jaded as fuck. Even if there was some magic law that was enacted that brought women back to the family I wouldn't be down with dating.

Hell, I don't even trust men anymore. My life so far has just been a slow decline of my faith and hope in humanity. People are so judgemental, hateful and selfish and I'm definitely bitter about it.

Also I don't really believe in AWALT but unicorns are too dangerous to risk. It takes one little thing, one little idea planted in their head, one fuckboy inboxing her, one friend whispering in her ear for her to flip the fuck out and ruin everything.

I am pretty sure the answer to your question depends on whom you asked. This is still MGTOW place. Unfortunately I have to tell you marriage was a flawed concept, especially today's version of it.

Men are motivated by sex, so you are completely powerless in marriage. You can be a 6-feet Chad that slays pussy day and night, and still want more sex. By marrying this woman, you instantly denied yourself all other women, including porn. Even just looking at another female can get you into trouble. But you still want sex! You wife can use this to manipulate you to death, or just make your life miserable because the two of you fall out of love after 10 years, which brings out the next point...
People change, situation changes. I couldn't recognize my previous self from 2 years ago. Most people fall in love in just months. Do you think they know each other and most importantly, themselves enough to do a lifetime commitment? On top of it, if you marry the perfect girl, how do you know she will be the same? You think she will continue to workout after locking a good man? She will continue to say sweet words? And child birth is known to cause severe change in women's perception and judgement. The only difference is, you cannot get out of this shitty contract.
Humans are not designed to live so close to each other. Let's just kill this "human are social animals" bs. We all need some personal space. You and your friends are having a great time together because you'all don't bring up all the differences you have and embarrassing/shameful secrets others have. People need privacy and secrets. A Mars living simulation in a desert left all 6 crew not wanting to speak to each other. You partner's small little habits can trigger your murderous intend after a few years of negative reinforcement. There was this lady said she really hated the way her husband brushed his teeth. Unicorn romance quickly fades when daily routines kick in. Unfortunately, most modern women don't understand this. They insist on your commitment to be with her 24/7. No unicorn can stand this test. Even if they do, your mother-in-law wouldn't. Remember, mothers-in-law drive economies.

Are their happy couples? Sure. But remember this: most people don't talk about big family issues to their close friends or other family members due to the fear of interference and judgement (my own family is a good example). The actual marriage happiness is a lot lower, I just cannot tell you by how much. Also remember women do things differently. They don't fight back. She can be smiling because she got her revenge. 20% of the dads in UK was raising someone else' kid. YouTube "parental alienation", you can find a lot of interesting ways people make you hate your dad/mom. All these are happening while wives smile at the husband and bake cookies.

No unicorn can solve these problems. Marriage and traditional family only existed because evolution favoured them. Those who hated it before didn't stay long to tell the tale. And evolution sure doesn't give a shit about your happiness or your own identity. It only rewards breeders.

I've known maybe a dozen truly good long term marriages. This is out of hundreds over my 60 year life. One thing they ALL had in common was an extremely low "n-count". Like 1 or 2 or maybe 3. And they married young. Life back before internet/social media was a lot less complicated. Now the freedoms of Fem3.0 and the lack of societal controls on basic female nature has led to this downward spiral. Women are herd animals and their female friends and family have a huge impact on the way they think about the men in their lives and the decisions they make. It is groupthink. Social media combined with being an emotional creature that can "flip the switch" is a very dangerous combination and has really negatively reinforced their basic nature. Combine this with how easy (and profitable) it is now to flip the switch and collect cash and prizes with zero social repercussions.... well, unicorns may exist but they are mostly gone from the scene at a very young age and in the very few successful life long marriages that still exist. Sad but true.

They are a few women out there who are closer to the unicorn part of the spectrum than that of the AWALT yes but few and far between. The issue is that those women can change and quickly destroy your life. Women on dating apps are unbelievable entitled. I've gone out a couple times with girls I've met who said they never got into the dating apps or much into social media. They were enjoyable to be around especially when compared to some of the girls from apps like Tinder... Even those that are closer to the unicorn side of the spectrum are still not unicorns and still usually aren't worth the time. I'm not saying I am a perfect human being, I am far from it however, I do not have the power under the law to really mess someone's life up.

My short answer is: of course. In my head I have the image of a unicorn. But just like Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, and an un-raped Game of Thrones season 8, they are all just fun fantasies.

Human nature IS nature. Women are the way they are in their hypergamous ways because it has been a successful mating strategy for, well, since there have been humans.

An important point about what AWALT is:

AWALT (all women are like that) is NOT meant to be taken as an expression that 50% of the population are "ALL" like that. That would be totally unreasonable to think that 3 billion people all fall into the same mold.

What AWALT is is this: it's a warning sign. It means that more often than not, you are taking a BIG risk getting romantically involved with a woman.

Imagine there was a nice romantic secluded beach cove with crystal blue water and a nice spot to do some cliff jumping, and no RIP tide on a peaceful spring day. ... now fill the cove with giant hammerhead sharks.

It would be unreasonable to think that if you go cliff jumping, you'll immediately be torn apart by a cove full of bloodthirsty man-eaters. But, every single one of those sharks COULD use you as a combination breath mint and dental floss.

AWALT is the sign on that cliff that says "DANGER: SHARKS".

You COULD jump off that cliff, and possibly, maybe, swim to shore and come out unscathed. But would you really want to chance it?

Not every woman out there is going to use you for resources and toss you out at the first bump in the road, but every one COULD. And the expense and heartache you would go through are simply not worth it from a risk point of view.

Will I ever trust a woman again? No. Not outside of the realm of being a mutual professional in a work environment.

Will I give up my freedom for a "unicorn" that I come across? No. Because unicorns dont exist. Hammerhead sharks do....

It generally goes as: In a certain circumstance and with a certain oppurtunities or problems on the horizon women will react generally one way or another.

Cry rape to prevent people thinking she is a slut.

Unsatisfactory in marriage will think she deserves a divorce (and all the good that entails for her).

If you tell her you won't do something for your own (or her) protection, it's abuse/controlling.

This kind of behavior happens one way or another, which won't get out of hand with male authority. (it's like telling kids go to bed, but you have to force them, but once you force them, you can be in legal trouble, so you don't even bother).

AWALT is just a hate term in MGTOW first sub. There are good women out there but they are really hard to find. Rather than spending your time finding for the right woman, invest that time on yourself and improve yourself.
