Your daughter just didn’t want to hurt you. She sees that it hurts you. Become indifferent to it and respond positively.

Don’t be upset with her. She’s going through something extreme hard.

How old is daughter? She is probably hurting too and acting out. My STBXW never responds to calls or texts and it is sooo damn frustraing. I'm sorry man, I hope things start looking up s for ya.

So how do you know she lied? Not sure of your daughters age, but she should not be held accountable for the adults failing to put in place a temporary custody arrangement system.

If anything, calmly speak to her about the importance of answering her phone when you call.

Read receipts can be turned off. Whether your stbx was on the phone or out on a date, she no longer owes you a timely response. Thirdly, I ascertain that you are stressed and hurt about the overall lost of your family more so than this isolated incident of ineffective communication.

I know it’s hard.

I may be wrong, but I think emotions can get so high and can be so dizzying that we often assign negative feelings to situations & people undeservingly.

Dude come on.... set the times in advance and make sure your daughter knows. Tell her to tell mom when when she's with her. Text her when your leaving to get her. Don't be asking your ex when you should pick up your daughter and don't concern yourself with her business or what she's doing. It sounds like you are having issues letting it go (even if you aren't).

"Out with her new squeeze". You sound butthurt and your daughter probably senses this. Your ex most definitely does and will continue to play on it until you learn to give zero fucks about where she is or who she's with. Only message your ex for arrangements with your daughter. Nothing else.

My ex leaves my daughter at home to go on dates. The same woman who argued that I had too much going on this year to get 50% custody.

I got my 50-50 and things have settled down, but this is what I went through.

Yeah man cut her some slack. She probably didn’t want to hurt you. She’s been through a lot and is a kid without an adult’s mind. You can explain to her that she is allowed to be truthful with you. You are the adult and she never has to be untruthful in order to protect you. Be easy with her.

Also, don’t put the kids in the middle. Do not call your daughter to find out any information about your STBXW. I know it’s difficult. I’m going through it too except my STBXW is still living in the house and carrying on with a new squeeze.

OP, take off the read receipts from your phone, and do not allow those to come back into the picture unless they are court ordered. I know it’s hard to go through this, but you have to know that your daughter is probably trying not to hurt your feelings.

Stop that. You have to train yourself to not respond emotionally to anything that your ex or your daughter does or it will make your situation much worse. Keep a rational mind as best you can. You're not an animal, you have the ability to choose how you respond to setbacks.

Update: Best family members ever reddit family. Thanks. I've calmed down and relize I was putting alot of emotion into this instead of a clear head.
